What a great album this is! My favourite is T.G.I.F. plus all the other tracks! They just seem to get better with each album they do!

I don't really listen to country music but Lonestar is one of the bands or country artists that I will listen too. They're very easy to listen too they aren't full of that twang when they sing and I enjoy most of their songs. Let's Be Us Again is the best song on the CD because during that time I had just gotten out of a long relationship and that song spoke to me even though we will never be together again it's worth listening too. Cause that song gives you hope that someday maybe you could be together again. I do also enjoy Lonestar over Rascall Flatts because well his voice sounds way better and not as high as the lead singer of Rascall Flatts.

I'd heard some of the songs before this album came out. That just made me want it even more. I went to one of their concerts and there they played "Let's Be Us Again" for only the second time to a concert crowd. I was hooked from the beginning. They quickly outdid themselves with their emotional song "Let Them Be Little." The crowd was about brought to tears. It's so nice to see that these men value their families so highly. Children do try to grow up too fast and this song is a reminder to "let them be little 'cause they're only that way for a while." They also show their versility through the songs upbeat "County Fair", "Class Reunion (That Used To Be Us)", and one of my personal favorites "T.G.I.F." because we can all relate to waiting for Friday to just get here. The final song, "Somebody's Someone" is a reminder that each soldier is important to someone, somehow. I'm looking forward to future Lonestar albums! Go out and buy this album, it's well worth it! Thanks Richie, Michael, Dean, and Keech for another great album!

Lonestar Needs to be "Us" Again,

Prime Cuts: Let's Be Us Again, What I Miss the Most, From There to Here
Back in the late 90s, Lonestar enjoyed a career makeover. Divorcing itself from its Texan honky tonk spit and sawdust roots, they have indulged in anthemic balladry and Eagles-influenced country rockers. Gone are the pressed starched shirts, Stetson hats and cowboy boots, the Lonestar of today (as pictured on the album sleeve) wears designer jeans and leather jackets, looking more like an over grown boy band. Such a move certainly paid off handsomely as Lonestar has anchored itself firmly as country radio's darling. "Let's Be Us Again" continues Lonestar's winning streak with the standard over-the-top power ballads and popish rockers. I have no qualms with artists trying to placate the support of radio; after all without airplay, it's commercial suicide for any artist. But has Lonestar gone too far? So far that "Let's Be Us Again" becomes a marketing ploy rather than an artistic expression of the group's ingenuity. How sincere are these guys on the loquacious "Mr. Mom" and the guitar driven rocker "Women Rule the World"? Are lines such as "They're so sexy when they're mamas," "In all shapes and sizes they make my temperature rise" really from the heart? Or are they pretentiously written so as to tickle the fancy of country music's largely female audience? Trace Adkins has done it with the extremely degrading and insulting "Hot Mama," is Lonestar following suit? The rest of the album doesn't get better. Most of the songs deal with themes that are far too safe within country music's canon. The titles say it all: "County Fair," "T.G.I.F.," "Summertime," and "Class Reunion." Following in the shadow of their mega smash hit "Amazed," most of the ballads here are powerhouse performance with Richie McDonald trying to prove that he could reach and sustain the high notes, rather than trying to express the emotions of the songs. With that said, the romantic title cut "Let's Be Us Again," the melancholic "What I Miss the Most" and the inspirational "From There to Here" are still ingratiating. Like many male bands and artists, Lonestar's eagerness for success has made "Let's Be Us Again" pretty pretentious. Maybe Lonestar should take their own advice and "let's be us again." They need to re-discover their own identity and chose songs that express that identity, rather than fashion itself into an over grown boy band singing mawkish material.

They're being themselves again...for the better!,
This review is from: Let's Be Us Again (Audio CD)
Lonestar's made a name of themselves by playing pop-influenced country. This album carries on that tradition...but underneath it all, you get the sense that they are leaning back toward their belt-buckle-barin roots. "Let's Be Us Again" is a terrific album. Richie McDonald has an incredible voice, and he's backed by three incredible musicians. Lonestar is a rarity: a hitmaking band with commercial appeal AND talent. I think Richie McDonald held a meeting with the Muse. He co-wrote most of these tunes, and keyboardist Dean Sams co-wrote a couple. "Now", a basically forgettable tune, is the only one not written by either McDonald or Sams. Nice to see they've picked up their songwriting again, after a long absence. The album opens with a tribute to a small town staple: county fairs. It continues with the fun "Class Reunion," followed by the engaging title track. "Women Rule the World", "Summertime," "TGIF," and "Mr. Mom" should be forgettable, but they're rather enjoyable (especially the latter tune, which features an underlying humorous streak). "What I Miss the Most" is powerful. "From There to Here", featuring Randy Owens, is a tune about how things have changed (and also a tip to the hat to fans of not only Lonestar but also Alabama). The final track, McDonald's "Somebody's Someone", is an emotional, powerful tribute to fallen war heroes. It's as beautiful as it is unforgettable. "Let's Be Us Again" is the...hold on...sixth album from this foursome. Richie McDonald, Dean Sams, Keech Rainwater, and Michael Britt have been making solid, incredible music for years now, and they show no signs of stopping. This album carries on their tradition of country-meets-pop. Not for traditionalists, but for those who enjoy what's playing on the radio today, this one's for you.

Lonestar's Best,

There are only a few country music groups today that are worth listening to, and Lonestar is definitely one of them. 'Let's Be Us Again' is full of great songs for every type of music fan. Their lyrics to their songs are always full of meaning and emotion, and the songs on this album are no exception. Let's Be Us Again is a wonderfully written and performed song which, much like Amazed, is an emotional and heartfelt. Probably the most stirring is Let Them Be Little, which is comparable to I Hope You Dance. My favorite track is Mr. Mom which is a humorous and upbeat anthem to stay at home parents. Other great tracks are From There To Here which is basically a biographical song about the long journey that Lonestar has taken to stardom, and County Fair, which Richie wrote after a night at the fair with a major fan. This is an excellent album! Any fan of country music is sure to find something that they like on this record!!

Go and buy this album. It's well worth it. My favourite Lonestar album before this one came out was Crazy Nights. After that one, I didn't like their stuff as much and got really sick of Amazed so was afraide to buy this one, but then heard it on a web cast where the album was played through so I bought it. Wow. The album is great, especially TGIF. The album is even better than Crazy nights. Go and buy it.
