Book Description

2 and upLook Inside! (Candlewick Press)
Small children mesmerized by vehicles and big machines will find more than their fill in this bright, bustling board book with lengthening pages.

LET'S BUILD! It takes a lot of building trucks to put up a house! A forklift carries bricks, a steamroller squashes the ground, a bulldozer pushes and scoops, a cement mixer churns, a digger makes holes, a flatbed trailer carries materials, and a crane lifts them up and down. Now here’s a huge excavator to start building another house!

Editorial Reviews

About the Author

Jane Chapman is the illustrator of many acclaimed books for children, including ONE DUCK STUCK and ONE TINY TURTLE. Of LET'S GO! and LET'S BUILD!, she says, "I was inspired by my two-year-old son, who is obsessed with all things related to transportation. I wanted to do a book that had lots of detail in the pictures and not too much text, and in preparation I did a tractor-driving course and even drove an excavator! I ended up putting members of my family in the pictures - my husband is in there, driving various things."

This review is from: Let's Build! (Look Inside! (Candlewick Press)) (Board book)
This has been my son's favorite book since he was an infant -now he's 18months and loved it so much it's in pieces and I'm buying him another one - each page folds out to bigger and bigger construction trucks - cranes, etc - with each one a different bold color. He loved it for the color and shapes as a baby, and now he recognizes the vehicles like they're old friends.
