Editorial Reviews

Review

The first time I met Jan Vermeiren, I was charmed by his sincerity & drive to help people to network. Jan's vision is that networking is not about accumulating power or creating self-importance, but about helping each other by sharing, learning & supporting. Jan reveals tips & to do's that are very interesting to read for everyone.

About the Author

After a career in the IT-world, Jan Vermeiren founded his own company. Originally focused on marketing coaching, due to interest from the market the company is evolved to everything that has to do with (human) networking. As Networking Coach Jan not only provides training courses, workshops, personal coaching, advice and presentations, he is also regularly interviewed about networking by and writes for different media like Belgian national television (De Zevende Dag, Lichtpunt), newspapers, job sites (Vacature.com, Jobat) and the magazines of several Chambers of Commerce. On February 1st 2006 his first book about networking, Let's Connect!, was published. It is a book about how to improve your networking on events and on the Internet, whether you are in sales or not. Nice to know is that he asked his network to give something extra to the buyers of the book. As a result 31 organisations offer bonuses and discounts worth 3.968 euro. You can find these extra's and a FREE light version of the book at the website: www.letsconnect.be Jan is hired by large companies like Alcatel, Belgacom, Delta Lloyd Bank, DuPont, EDS, Ernst & Young and SAP as well as by small companies and freelancers. By the way, you can subscribe to a free networking e-course at the website www.networking-coach.com.

5.0 out of 5 stars A "must have read", October 27, 2007
This review is from: Let's Connect!: A Practical Guide for Highly Effective Professional Networking (Paperback)
Let's Connect is the first book I would recommend to someone if they would like to learn how to build an effective and efficient networking strategy. After reading the book for the first time you have many networking tips you can immediately apply. After that the table of contents helps the reader very well to go back to the part of their networking strategy they want to improve further. Since I have been an avid networker for years, the tips about networking on an event were more a good reminder (and I even discovered some tips to fine-tune some of my skills). What was rather new for me was the Golden Triangle of networking and also networking via online business networking websites. They helped even me to take networking to a higher level !

4.0 out of 5 stars For those who want to understand how to Network and enjoy its benefits, December 4, 2007
By
This review is from: Let's Connect!: A Practical Guide for Highly Effective Professional Networking (Paperback)
Networking is a new art and skill and a lot of people are starting to wake up to the fact realising that it is no longer an option but an essential skill. The problem is where and who to turn to in order to learn this vital skill? Secondary schools, universities and business schools don't even touch on it (yet), let alone study it in depth.
Time spent with a master lecturer called Jan Vermeiren on how to network effectively will give you clarity in a way that illuminates the path and mental approach that is so necessary for success in this crucial activity. In addition to his obvious knowledge, it is as much his manner and nature that convinces you that this is a man worth listening to who offers a wealth of experience and simple practical steps to ensure that your networking activities bring about the results you seek that will benefit your business.
