Too bad! None of this gets naughty!, March 7, 2007
This review is from: Let's Dance: Latin Collection (Chariots of Fire) (Audio CD)
There are half a dozen Coumbia Ballroom Orchestra albums, and they will make an inexpensive foundation for your new or growing collection of ballroom dance music. Please don't be distressed by the three star rating. I explain the difference in my profile, and you can find links to several dozens albums reviewed there.
This is full orchestra dance music and the strings often carry the melody line. The beat, provided by drums, plucked bass, or bass guitar, is easy to hear. The cover and insert list the appropriate dance and the tempo (bpm). The tempos are appropriate to the suggested dance and it is all just sweet and beautiful. And therin lies my slight disappointment: None of this gets naughty! All of the cha chas are too nice, and the rumbas are not seductive.
Here is the title, duration, suggested dance, and the tempo (bpm):
