As a complete collection, I thought this would be a great set of DVDs to complement my class. Not at all. The instruction is not filmed well and sadly the male instructor doesn't cover the moves particularly well. Additionally,if you are a woman hoping to use this set, don't even try. The woman in the videos simply smiles her way through each lesson, never saying a word and there is no passion or flair in the very limited full shines. It was so painful to watch that I couldn't stand it past 5 lessons. I browsed the rest hoping to see an improvement and ended up throwing the whole set in the trash.

After watching these dvds i just wanted to forget that i made such a horrible mistake buying them. I guess when you have no idea about dancing you might find them interesting. The dancers are so bad, the moves so basic and their style...what style? The production is bad the dialogues even worst...with repeated scenes such as "welcome to a more episode of lets dance salsa" or "as we mentioned to a previous episode of lets dance salsa" or "if you dont know how to do it buy the previous dvd of lets dance salsa". As my contribution to the dancing community im writing this review to keep people from waisting their money.Im done.

These is beastly, useless DVDs. Instructors don't count at all and don't dance to music. They dance only cumbia constantly. They have no style. Don't buy this video, you will not learn salsa. I think to return these DVDs.

First, please note, I know little, if anything about latin dance. I purchased one of the disks in this series as well as several other salsa videos featuring other teachers.

Perhaps it is just my ignorance, unfamiliarity with latin dance...but I honestly liked the video. The teacher puts his whole heart into sharing what he knows with others. His Spanglish is endearing and, for me, shows his passion in sharing his love of dance with others.

I think there are a great many good dancers out there who, like this teacher, have something really special to share with us.

Unfortunately, we never enjoy this information because these people lack the Hollywood sized budgets and fear the media edit and special effect(not content) critics.

So what happens, we get very few great productions, lots of well edited, highjly polished shiny disks full of nothing!

In Let's Dance Salsa I agree with other reviewers that the filming isn't superior level.

The lady is quite a bit taller than the man.
Physically they are not the Hollywood Style, perfectly proportioned, air brushed, plastic cardboard cutouts. They are 'real', three dimensional people, which encourages, lends hope to would be dancers, such as myself.

Their match invites short gents and tall ladies to get up and dance!

This box cover, unlike FAR too many other Dance Instruction videos, shows a picture of the ACTUAL teaching couple.

So Of the dance instruction dvds in my posession, this one is better than most others. I have four salsa videos and I find this one to be the best.

Maybe the other reviewers might post salsa instruction videos that they find acceptable so we Salsa newbies can be pointed in the right direction?

In terms of content on Let's dance Salsa: I liked the way the disk was broken up and segmented so you could go back and review moves that were harder.

I liked the way one skill was built upon another.

I liked the sheer volume of movements and combinations taught. The dvd lasted forever! Generous content is a HIGHLY unusual but very much esirable benefit.

I liked his teaching of fun and unusual movements like the dips.

His eggbeater combination cracked me up! I tried the man's part as well as the woman's and this one was spinsational. One should not try this one on a full stomach or after a full pitcher of margaritas!

So, my point: I have written a few reviews on amazon and made no secret of my opinions...I liked this teacher and would buy this one again if I had it to do over. I have taken a few beginning salsa classes with different teachers and saw no vast contradictions between their material and that presented by the Let's Dance Salsa teacher. In fact, if the sound, wardrobe, language fluency, and film quality were better, this would, in my opinion, deserve a 5 star rating. Content...he is a six when compared to my other salsa videos!

The video looks like it was made with a $100 budget. It has a horrible and cheap background, and the instructors are very cheesy. Do not dance like these people or you will be laughed out of the salsa club. These instructors give salsa dancers a bad image. I'm an advanced dancer and got nothing out of their advanced videos. The New York salsa videos are excellent, so is a guy named Super Mario for advanced dancers.

This collection of CDs should not be sold. They are of no use at all to the dance community. Other than what you dont want to look like or how you dont want to teach. I have competed and taught in dancing This is awful. I could not even watch all of them instead I threw them away.

I'm real Latin dancer and I know this is the unique series that's really authentic. I recommended for all kind of dancers because usually people misunderstand a salsa dance. This is our stile, this videos and DVD offers a real opportunity to up date with cool moves and the same time, respect the authenticity. Some people from others disciplines underestimate the original ways, but I think for persons who want learning and build a good based to start and get stronger in your own stile Let's dance salsa is perfect. I'm proud to see some one in the market respect our culture. The production is great, to me that people was thinking in people who never dance in the live, and that is good because they suggest a great advices to be save. Others instructors in the market don't care about how used the knee in deeps or how spin with the right technique. And also Marlon's charisma made easy the process to learning. I'm totally glad with these products because my girlfriend whose is American citizen understood immediately and, thank that we danced so well in dances floor and parties. So I can't believe how people made but commentaries about these videos. O maybe yes... only the competitors... So to resume this series is the best because: production, instructor, authenticity, and tips for a healthy practice.
