5.0 out of 5 stars Cookie Monster at His Best!
Cookie Monster is going to have a party and he takes us through all you must do to get ready and have a party. The book teaches children all the polite things one does before and during a party.

My favorite page is the page where he sets the table and the picture illustrates the correct way to set a place setting.

1.0 out of 5 stars What are we teaching our kids?
I bought this book for my one year old son. He does not yet watch Sesame Street, but I thought the book would be cute. Unfortunately, I did not read it before purchasing it; when I went to read it to him, I was appalled at the grammar. I understand that Cookie Monster has his signature "Me want cookie" - and I suppose it sounds cute coming from him, but it loses the...

My favorite page is the page where he sets the table and the picture illustrates the correct way to set a place setting.

The books also shows a picture of Cookie Monster and all his friends cleaning up and doing dishes after dinner. It's nice to let kids know that they too can help with clean-up.

This is a cute little book with bright illustrations that kids will love.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great story, grammar not the best for pre-readers, March 30, 2006

The story of Cookie Monster planning a turkey dinner is fantastic and our 3 year old LOVES it. It's very fun to read even for mom and dad! My only complaint is that the book is written in Cookie Monster-ese. For example, instead of saying "I want to cook a dinner, I need some help from you", this book says "Me want to cook a dinner, me need some help from you". We just change the words to speak the sentence correctly and everyone ends up happy!

My little girl loves this book! This book features Cookie Monster as he prepares for a dinner party for some of his friends. The story is told in rhyme and it's full of pictures of Sesame Street characters. There are a few "interactive" parts whre Cookie Monster addresses the reader. This is destined to become a quick favorite.

I bought this book for my one year old son. He does not yet watch Sesame Street, but I thought the book would be cute. Unfortunately, I did not read it before purchasing it; when I went to read it to him, I was appalled at the grammar. I understand that Cookie Monster has his signature "Me want cookie" - and I suppose it sounds cute coming from him, but it loses the effect when it is being read by an adult, who is having to read sentences like "the house look kind of messy" and "then everything look better" - would it have killed the author to add an "s" at the end of "look" to make it gramatically correct? I agree with another reviewer - if I do read this to my son, I will change the sentences to make them gramatically correct. The English language is hard enough to grasp without confusing young children with incorrect grammar. Luckly, I only paid $1 for this book at Target!

What better way to set up your kid's eating disorders than a nice cookie monster book for toddlers? So settle down with some cookies and read this book with a loved one.
