5.0 out of 5 stars They Shouldn't Be A Secret...... August 25, 2000
By Ken
Format:Audio CD
The Delgado Brothers are one of the best kept secrets of the L.A. Music scene all though they shouldn't be. I've had the pleasure of seeing them Live 5 or 6 times and they never dissapoint. When I recently had the chance to get some co-workers to come out one night and experience this band they were completley blown away !! Probably the best way to describe them is that they are just as good as any big name out there .... it's just that the Delgado's aren't famous. This CD does show off the bands wonderful sound which incorporates many styles & influences . Joey Delgado's guitar work is a real highlight through out (If you like blues stlye guitar playing you'll really appreciate his work ) and I really love the way Brother Bob on bass lives in the groove throughout the whole CD. The Percussion section of Ray Solis & Brother Steve creates the solid foundation from which the hot jamming is launched from. Anyone I've turned onto this CD always asks me who is this ? They're really hot !!! I now live on the East coast and do hope these guys do become famous enough to want to leave their West coast roots and tour the country so I can experiece their live sound again. Anyone out there who reads this and loves blues style music should buy this CD YOU WILL NOT BE DISSSAPOINTED !!!!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars You won't be disappointed with the Delgado Brothers October 13, 2000
Format:Audio CD
I've known these guys for a number of years and everytime I have taken anyone to see them, they come away completely impressed with their music, song writing, and joy of playing music together.
The album is hard to sum up in a short review. It moves through a number of musical styles. From the traditional blues of "If I don't get home", to the swinging "Blue line", or in the exuberance of "Come with me baby"; the Brothers never miss a beat.
Do yourself a favor and discover these guys while you can still see them in a small club. And if you get the chance to see them play live; don't hesitate, just go.

The Delgado Brothers have created an album that demands the listener to stand up, take notice and groove to their beat. Wonderful lyrics, Soulful playing - this album is entertaining and downright fun to listen to. The tracks hit you one after another with a sound that can only come from artists who LOVE to play. So get back to some great music with the Brothers!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great live show to boot! June 2, 2001
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
Yes they do give an extra giddyup in your boots. Saw them at the KPIG Blues Festival in Santa Cruz County and they blew my socks off. Best band of the day in my opinion, but you know about opinions. Sooo, instead of buying a used CD of these guys, I bought a new one so they get the money. Hope they spend it wisely on some new music and I will be seeing these fellers at Moe's Alley when they come back to town. Good job men!!

Just like the sultry, crawling Mississippi River...the aroma of seafood gumbo in a cast iron pot...pecan pralines from an old Creole kitchen...and the sights, sounds and mystique of Bourbon Street in the New Orleans French Quarter, the "Delgado Brothers" bring "Blues" to where they belong. Their "Let's Get Back" selections entice my senses with passion...the kind of passion felt while becoming "one" with the Vieux Carre.
I encourage you to experience this CD...take it along in a carriage ride around Jackson Square in New Orleans....or while riding the St. Charles Street Car...or while aboard the Delta Queen as she teases the muddy waters along her winding backbone...Stroll down Royal Street on your way to the Cafe' du Monde while listening to the Delgado Brothers and you will experience "Blues" like it was meant to be experienced.
This is truly a great find.
