THE TRUTH,

I usually burn cds but i spent my money and bought this one. Young Jeezy's album has some prety tight beats produced by Mannie Fresh, Jazze Pha, and Shawty Red- and cool guest apperances by Trick Daddy(on 'Last of A Dying Breed'), Lil Scrappy(on 'Bang'), and T.I.(also on 'Bang'). Everybody loves Jeezy's style- but if u dont, itll problly grow on you, pick it up.

This is not worth the 15 cent raw material cost that the CD was created with. The rhymes & beats are the worst I've heard in a long time. I also hate fake thug images... It's not that you have to be gangsta or thug to be good; it's just that you should be whatever you really are and not put on a studio act. terrible.. The only reason I even owned this is becuase some music club sent it to me automatically.. It really amazes me the crap that some artists try to pass of as "hip hop" and the dumb people who don't know what good rap sounds like..

Talk about over-rated,

Yeah, along with Mariah Carey and 50 Cent, we have the Most Overrated Album of 2005. It makes all the top albums of the year list, yet it's because of what? I'll start trying to tell you what this is. Even the people praising him admit that there's little substance to his songs. These may be catchy, but after awhile when people listen to this they'll wonder what was really so great about it. Maybe not as idiotic and sucky as Boyz N Da Hood, but this is still no good. It's an album full of bulls*** and I am disappointed that even people in my musical cohort tend to praise stuff like this. If I like it then it might be because of a guest or something, though I think that's what makes it a star lower than it'd regularly be..
Besides, his Snowman image thing grates my nerves even more, but listening to it does nothing to redeem that. Oh yeah, but it not only gives him more street cred but sends a message to the kids. What has the world come to these days. At least 2005 had decent (or dare I say GREAT) albums like "The Documentary", "Almost Platinum" or even the ones from Kanye and Common (unsurprisingly). This is on par with that current BEP album.

Please stop giving this 5 stars,

It is not deserving of 5 stars...just contemplate the other albums on this site that have 5 star ratings: Illmatic, The Low End Theory, Enter The 36 Chambers, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx...is this release on par with these masterpieces?
Personally, if a negative rating was possible, I would be as liberal as possible. Young Jeezy is the worst rapper to ever go platinum. Someone answer this: what do you find appealing about him? It certainly isnt his voice, he sounds more raspy than The D.O.C. after his car accident. Lyrics? No, Jeezy can rhyme "fun" and "gun" like any preschooler. I just cant understand how anyone who has an adequate knowledge of hip-hop music (especially 1988-1996) can be a fan of this trash. It pains me that this recording can sell a million records and A Tribe Called Quest's "The Low End Theory" was released more than 10 years ago and to this day is STILL not platinum. Hip-hop today is pretty much dead. Turn your ears to the underground if you want to stay true these days. Vibe to your "Lean wit it rock wit" if you want teenie boppers...

This album is easily one of the finest albums I have purchased in a LONNG time. Young jeezy really suprised my with this one. Its funny too because I thought Gucci Mane rapped better on their single "So Iccy" Yet Gucci Mane's album is utter trash! Young jeezy has so many anthems and he spits so many quotables, youll trully find something here you enjoy. And his style of adlibbing after he spit a good line is hilarious.
Again, a highly recomended album and easily the best of the year so far.

I cant believe how good this album turned out to be it seems like a breathe of fresh air (for rap/hiphop).I expected alot from Jeezy hearing his mixtapes over the past few months and even tho most of the songs are on this album its still good damn near great. Alot of the beats are really really good for those who love beats more than lyrics (which arent that bad). If there ever will be a award for most quotable artist in 05 it definitly would go to this guy I have'nt seenanother artist with as much charisma that jeezy has. Thug motivation 101 is definitly a can't mis (thats riigghhht). Sorry if you wanted me to say somin negative about this cd I can't its that damn good.

I am from DC and my job had me re-locate to Nashville TN. So of course everyone is big on the southern rappers out here. Nothing wrong with that other than most southern rappers are garbage (not being an a$$ just telling the truth). Everyone seems to be raving about Young Jeezy, saying he's the next greatest, so I listened to the cd out of curiousity, man do I regret that. Dude is just another dime a dozen rapper with a barely average flow and tired production. His lyrical content is pretty weak, rap about something more productive than how much of a street hustler you WERE. You're on one of the biggest rap labels in the industry, and you're a product of it. I'm sick of seeing those stupid snow man t-shirts, that's setting a good example for the young & impressionable. I'll just go ahead and chalk this one up as another disappointment from Def Jam... Hey Def Jam, how about releasing the new Red Man or that ODB cd that still has yet to see the light of day?

I mean seriously Jeezy is a borderline retard, how can someone with such an obvious lack of talent shift millions of albums. It seems all you need in the rap game these days is to either have been shot, or have sold coke and with the right promotion you can become a millionaire. I have heard enough of Jeezy to know that he is s**t, he raps slower than most people speak, his songs all revolve around the fact that he used to sling caine and his rhymes are weak as hell. I'm only 22 but already I sound like an old man, I long for a return to the early to mid nineties, when talent and subject matter actually mattered. A catchy hook by an R&B singer and a club beat combined with earlier said reputation is enough to ensure sales now, a damn shame.
I'll leave you with the words of Jeezy himself, on Sky's The Limit watch how this genius rhymes opportunist with opportunist, and John Madden with John Madden, all in the space of a few bars. Also note the jeah's at the end of nearly every sentence, something MC Eiht was doing about 15 years ago. I see opportunity, I'm an opportunist Nigga ya heard what I said, I'm an opportunist (jeah) Off the hard white and the cream (cream) All these free agents, ya better build ya team (that's right) I come and take the game like John Madden (jeah) Cause I played in the game like John Madden (ay) Amazing!

Jeezy doesn't give you sick metaphors and witty punchlines, nor does he apologize for not doing so (Jeezy proudly asserts that he is not a rapper). Ironically, what he does have is also what many of his lyrically-superior peers lack: tons of charisma and a great ear for beats, which make for an entertaining, 70-plus minutes of thug motivation. Highlights include Thug Motivation, Standing Ovation, Go Crazy, My Hood, Trap Star, Bang (though T.I. lyrically melts The Snowman on this one), Soul Survivor and Trap Or Die. Although you have more than likely heard every aspect of hustling covered better, you can't deny Jeezy's energy and the rawness of the production on this album. Peace up for the "Trapper Of The Year".
