5.0 out of 5 stars A Must-Have for Backpackers, June 21, 2004
This review is from: Let's Go 2004: Western Europe (Let's Go: Western Europe) (Paperback)
This book is a must for anyone travelling on a budget through Europe. It gives a detailed description of tons of resturants, hostels, hotels, and sites, and offers a cost guide to help you plan out your budget. It's deathly honest, so it even rates places that aren't so good and warns you!

The centerfold contains maps which are great for getting yourself started. You should probably buy a bigger map, but for the short term, the maps in this book work just fine. The metro and train maps are indespensible. It keeps you from looking like a total idiot in the metro stations.

Buy it to help you plan, not right before you leave. It gives lots of tips about the best way to get around and how to avoid purchasing the often over-priced Eurorail pass.

This book is ideal for anyone who is planning on hopping around Europe, not so much for those who are planning on studying or working in one location. If you're planning an extended vacation to one place in Europe, buy Let's Go's specific country guides, not this book. But, for the wanderer, the backpacker, and the hosteller, this is the perfect book.
