Not as good as Lonely Planet,
By Greg V. (Minnesota, USA) - See all my reviews
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Let's Go Central America 9th Edition (Paperback)
Overall, Let's Go Central America was not as good of a guide book as the Lonely Planet counterpart. One, the book simply contains fewer maps, even in relatively big cities along the gringo trail. This makes it difficult to get around many cities (if depending solely on this book). Moreover, there were more inaccuracies concerning the location of restaurants, guesthouses, etc. than the lonely planet book. For example, in Granada, Nicaragua, we found that a restaurant was on a different street than the one stated in the book.
For most of the trip, we referred mostly to our Lonely Planet (which had superior maps - even though criticized by many) for the above reasons. We unloaded this thing in a used bookstore. |
