5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best....
I listened to this album night and day back in 1995. I remember, it was on sale for 5 bucks. It was new but already on sale, I said "what the hell, It's only 5 bucks". That was one of my greatest investments. I can still listen to this album and just love it. You feel those guitars and drumbeats all over. If you love Punk, or are just a music lover that can...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Rancids best but shreds Korn and Metallica...
Lets Go is Rancid's worst CD, but that doesn't mean its not worth buying. There are a lot of forgettable songs on here that sound the same, but tracks like Nihilism, Radio, and Salvation make anyone who doesn't have this album seem like a retard.

If you love Punk, or are just a music lover that can appreciate this album, buy it. If you also get a chance to see them live, check them out. They are great live and just a cool bunch of down to earth guys. I'm sure many people out there already love Rancid, but there are many who still don't dare listen. Lets help them out. This is Rancid in their prime.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure Street-Punk., August 1, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Let's Go (Audio CD)
Rancid is one of the finest and most respectable punk rock acts out today, so why don't they get the respect they deserve? To many people, the word "sellout" becomes common when any band makes it somewhere in the world of MTV or Top Ten records. Although explaining how a talented group of real punks who have actually lived the life they sing about, seen the things they talk about, and still hold the same beliefs, wear the same clothes, play the same music, still buy the same vinyl, and stick with the same record company that got them where they are sellouts just for making it on MTV seems impossible for the lil gutter punks who are so "anarchy" they can't even take baths. Face it kiddos, these guys know punk rock. They've made it their lively hood. ...This is real street-punk from punks who were really on the streets and actually know about the stuff their talking about. Most people take what they have for granted...I know I tend to. So when a band like this comes along, I take notice. These men have talent, experience, and a real knowledge of their world, and the world around them, both in the punk universe, and in the music business. So please, excuse them if they've had enough of being proverty stricken and actually want to succeed and make the money they deserve and go on MTV to sell a few more records. Like you have the right to judge them (most of you anyway...and you know who you are! ). I haven't lived the life these guys have had to, and I hope I never do. Most of you out there are the same way, but still whine about Rancid "selling out" while you sit in your fathers car to go to the local Borders or Tower Records to buy another copy of MaximumRocknRoll. I listen to this album and I hear real punk from real Punk Rockers, something I tried to be but never was. I admire Rancid and their dedication to the scene. They're the reason I got out of punk. Not because I didn't want to be like them, but because I knew I had no right to moan about how rough things are for a kid living on the streets of Denver in the who really had no place to go. I knew that my little "Anarchy" sings all over my backpack in High School was worthless. I knew that guys like the ones in this band have been there, and done that. I showed my respect for Punk Rock by become something I could be proud of, not something I could fake. Rancid doesn't fake. And don't think that for a second if you out there had the life these guys had and had the chance to get out of it by making money you wouldn't, 'cause ur not fooling anyone. This is real punk rock. This is RANCID.

This is an awesome album i hope EVERYONE can get a chance to listen to this music, I'm not a punk-pop fan but let the kids be, If they like it they like it and i think they have every right to listen to all rancid out there, it would definatly amaze them and i think any one out there who is anyone could learn to love rancid. They are rough and in your face and it just makes you want to get up and move.
Before you buy this album i really recommend And out come the wolves first if you don't have any of their albums, Rancid is amazing and i hope more people can learn to appreciate how good this band is.

5.0 out of 5 stars Let's go-go-go!!!, August 13, 2006

I am a Clash fanatic who was tired of the lack of punk music from the 70's and early 80's. I saw Let's Go bought it and put it in my car CD player. I listened to it every day for a week and absolutely loved it. At first I was skeptical but man is it catchy. Some great songs and lyrics if you can understand them. But hey its not about clear vocals....The bas lines are awesome and almost rocka billy in some places but it all works. Classic tracks include Harry Bridges, Salvation, Radio and Nihilism but in a way all the songs have merit. I am still playing this CD on the way to work and it gets me ready for anything the day can bring on. I am glad that even an old punk rocker like myself can still be revved up by music.
Here is the tip...
Buy this CD...give it a few listens and I guarantee you will put it in your top 10 CD's to take to a desert island.
If only there was more music like this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best of the 90s punks, June 18, 2006
This review is from: Let's Go (Audio CD)
Rancid is definitely the best of all the punk acts that came out in the mid-nineties and this is one of their best albums. After listening to these tracks I wonder why any song has to be any longer than two minutes. Like most Rancid albums the first 2/3 is where the bulk of the best tracks lie, which are kind of Oi-punkish with the chant-a-long choruses, and oh, they're all catchy as hell. But since when was catchy a bad thing? People tend to discredit catchiness as if it were a signal of bad music, but while catchy is equivalent to pop, I don't think it hurts the music in any way.

I wrote this review mostly to stand up for Rancid, and to state that they are indeed very punk. They're third wave nineties punk, a class of punk in which pretty much every band had their...I guess you could call them "MTV moments." They all also wrote pretty accessible stuff. But you know, if you want hardcore you've got Dead Kennedys and Black Flag and if you want classic you've got The Clash and The Pistols. This is supposed to be different and it stands on its own as a really great punk record.

This review is from: Let's Go (Audio CD)
Great CD some of Rancid's best
you see this is punk ROCK
not that wimpy punk like simple plan
good beats with some awesome guitars
and an occasionaly killer guitar solo
oh and the bass player is great
(but not quite as good as in ...And Out Come The Wolves)
awesome bass lines
The singer's voice matches perfectly to the music
The Songs are short but sweet
and 20 of em
only thing i dont like is how the songs end
they just kinda drop off
over all 4/5 stars

5.0 out of 5 stars Kind of light, but better than 75% of the "punk" of today, May 10, 2003
This review is from: Let's Go (Audio CD)
As my title implies, I found this record to be rather light for a punk record, but I totally love this music. The music is fun, fast, and catchy, and is always a good listen. This record is more punky than ...And Out Come the Wolves (though that's not saying much), but no where near as punk as Rancid 2000 (my personal favorite).

These songs are really good, but, at first, they all kind of sound the same. It takes a few listens, but, after a while, you start to notice the uniqueness of each song. Once you realize how great of an album Let's Go is, you'll want to listen to it all the time. It's got 23 songs on it, so it never gets boring. This, ...And Out Come the Wolves, and Rancid 2000 are what I consider the essential Rancid purchases. AOCTW has a punk/ska-ish, almost poppy kind of feel, while Rancid 2000 is pure punk, and Let's Go is sort of a median between the two.

Bottom Line: Great, sort of light punk record from the 90s.

this is an absolutely amazing CD, probobly my favorite cd of all time. It's got 23 unbelievable songs, i bought this cd in 4th grade, and now i'm in 11th, an it's still my favorite cd. I'd even say it's better than out comes the wolves, which is amazing also. If you don't have this cd, you MUST get it, no cd collection is complete without this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ah, Another Page In Rancid History....., August 3, 2000

Yes, we all welcome Lars into Rancid with open arms. His funky bass-popping influences create pure punk on this '94 release. With their first video "Salvation" getting lots of air on MTV, the CD sold like hotcakes on that song alone! But there's so much more on this CD to love. "Nihilism" brings together a great duo of Tim and Lars' literally cool vocals to the spotlight. With slight rockabilly/reggae influences(only slight), this CD offers more than just straight-forward punk rock. It's like a kick in the pants to punk rock, in a way of shaping it differently. If you liked "Rancid", you'll go ape for "Let's Go". Best songs - Radio(co-written with Billie Joe from Green Day), Salvation, Burn, Ghetto Box, International Cover-Up, 7 Years Down. It's 23 songs, so you'll never get tired!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars classic rancid, March 8, 2006
This review is from: Let's Go (Audio CD)
Someone on down the line of reviews wrote in dislike of this album

"All the songs sound the same.
The singer can't sing.
Some of the songs are only a minute long.
It sounds like a dog went through the slaughterhouse."

I disagree with his first line, and the rest all I can say is... dude, thats why they are so f**kn awesome! Hell, I would be honored to hear that my album "sounds like a dog went through a slaughterhouse." This album will blow you away. Tim's lyrics incredible voice blow you away yet again. If Tim were to do books on tape, i would buy the books even if they were bad books just to listen to his voice, despite the fact that I wouldn't know what he was saying.

My advise for any new listener to rancid. pick up an album. listen to it 4 times, on the fifth time you will be hooked for life. They are definitely the heroin of music.
