Decent book, Lonely Planet is much better.,

This book is a decent introduction, but I wouldn't recommend it if you are only buying one guidebook for your trip. The maps are not extensive enough, and once in Bangkok it told me to get off at the wrong stop on the Skytrain! Also, I dind't feel there was enough detail for Northern Thailand (I haven't gone to the South yet, so I do not know about that area). I ended up borrowing Lonely Planet from some friends, and that is what I have been using since it has much more extensive listings for sightseeing, hotels, food... and actual maps that are useful! Still, if you are taking several books with you, this is not a bad addition.
