There is even a children's section so that the littlest member of your family can join in on the dog party fun, too.

I highly recommend this book as a gift for any dog-lover in your life.

......you'll read this book. It really taught me some things I'd never thought of even though I've been a hard core, vegan AR activist for years.
It's not just about parties....but little everyday things we can do
to make our friends lives fuller & more interesting. I'll tell you one thing,if my doggies could type, THEY would give this book 5 woofs...or stars or whatever. It's a fantastic book for kids too.

Animal rights supporters and doggie lover alike-- rejoice!! This is a really fun book that is going to give any dog lover a bunch of fun ideas for their best friend. Some ideas for pooch parties include a bark mitzvah, birthday party planning, and puppy showers. Pick this book up and make your dog's day!

What a clever book. Its message is clear: Ingrid has a passion for animals, and this light-hearted approach to celebrating our beloved canines is the cherry on top of a soy-cream sundae. And the parties are equally as fun for the human companions! What I love most about this book is that any activity that focuses on your pooch can be a party. Just the act of my snuggling with my precious as she snores and grunts on my lap can be considered a party. I think every day calls for a dog party, and whether I choose to get elaborate or keep it simple, this is the only book I need to pull it together.

This is the kind of book you'd see at a bookstore check-out line and think "Hey, that would be a cute gift for [insert name of dog lover]." And you would be right. Give in to temptation and buy this book for your favorite canine guardian. It's lighthearted, fun, and even a little silly, but isn't that what parties are supposed to be about? I especially got a kick out of the anecdotes from dog lovers sprinkled throughout the book.

Four tail wags for this entertaining read! Who can disagree with ideas to help "repay" the joy our beloved dogs give us? They don't ask for much for all that they give, and we owe it to our canine companions to make their lives as happy and fulfilling as possible. My dog constantly brings me happiness. The book is a delight to read!

But, the comments being made about PETA's policies are inaccurate. Even the most cursory look at PETA's Web site, www.PETA.org, makes it clear that PETA is not against people sharing their lives with companion animals, and this book is evidence of that.

I picked up this book a few days ago and enjoyed it very much. I have skimmed through lots of other books on pampering your pup but this one is good because it focuses on what the dog would actually enjoy instead of just what would amuse their person.

I like also that the writer's not shy to write about why adopting dogs is better than buying from breeders. Too many dogs are homeless for people to be breeding more.

And my dogs love me even more since I purchased Ingrid Newkirk's newest book, Let's Have a Dog Party. Cooking is my hobby, so I went straight to the chapter with doggy recipes. Lucky and Gracie gave "5 Woofs" for Carly's Favorite Brownies. Bobbie Mullins's Easy Lentil Stew is on the menu tonight, and both dogs already have on their party hats. I thought I was a super companion to my dogs before, but now that I have this book to give me tons of ideas for fun things to do with them, I am going to be their superstar!
