Editorial Reviews

Product Description
The Russian Futurists' Matthew Adam Hart is recognized by critics and the public alike as one of the most impressive compositional minds to emerge in years - the romantic eye of a Stephen Merritt or Leonard Cohen married to the epic melodic sweep of recent Flaming Lips or vintage Human League. Let's Get Ready To Crumble, his second album from 2003, is full of the wide-eyed wonder and musical adventurousness that makes The Russian Futurists one of the most reverently spoken about new names in pop. In songs like 'It's Actually Going To Happen' and 'It's Not Really Cold When It Snows', one can only conclude that Hart has simply become better in every way - while still adhering to the low-budget, lone-gun approach of his debut. Darla. 2003.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exceedingly Awesome, April 22, 2005
Adam Hart is one clever dude. "Let's Get Ready to Crumble" draws heavily on classic 60's and 70's pop and he even namechecks the Beatles. This record is nothing revolutionary, but it's completely unprententious and ridiculously catchy. All Hart wants to do is create totally cohesive and pristine pop music. On paper, this sort of bedroom pop music sounds like the Postal Service but in practice it's much, much better. It's irresistably charming, and only a seriously humorless (...) could find something to hate about it.

5.0 out of 5 stars nice, fresh sound, April 16, 2004
By SL (RI) - See all my reviews
Just imagine what happens when you blend the 80s psychedelic rock like the Stone Roses and Happy Mondays and today's electro, like Ladytron-you get a fresh new sound, not so programmed like today's popular electro pop. It'll bringing some nostalgic moments from the 80s. Those who did not grow up on songs from the 80s British psychedelic rock would still find this music refreshing. I see Urban Outfitters playing this CD creating a "hip" and "trendy" atmosphere to reflect the store. I don't know if that's good or bad. You decide.

By Rob Byrd (Wyoming, Ohio United States) - See all my reviews
Very original, fun, clever, and most of all just great music. From the beginnning of the first track to the end of the last this cd is filled with amazing lyrics, cool, clever, and often honest. Its impossible to pick a favorite track on this cd theyre all so great. i guess i could say the standouts are 1,3,6,7,9,and 10. (i love the shotgun in track 10, and the mario coin sound in 7) give it a listen and youll be addicted, if you turn this up really loud in your car people may think what the hell is he listening to?!?!? give it a listen, like one song and youll love them all BUY TO IT NOW!!! i sort this music into genre FU$%#CKING SWEET!!!
