This book is not recommended for use by a serious soulwinner. This book is not recommended for use by a serious soulwinner. After having attending Hyles Anderson College, and seeing the effect of this style of soulwinning firsthand, I would never recommend it to anybody. This is a rambling like you would get talking to a used car salesman. The book teaches nothing about repentance on the part of the person, which is necassary part of salvation, and in a true conversion will take place. In Acts, new beleivers were commanded to do works meet for repentance. Jesus commanded that we "repent" in the book of John. Repentance and Faith in a true conversion are simultaneous actions. Looking back on the number of conversions that take place every week at FBC of Hammond, and Hyles Anderson College, it is noticeable that probably 90% of the conversions were fake that I witnessed, using this method. No, I cannot see the heart, but, I see how they live their life, and this book does not teach good soulwinning tactics. Stick to what the Bible says. This book may have some use, but in many "conversions, is not useful. This method may have helped some, and I thank God for that, but it is a faulty one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Step-by-Step lessons in soul winning!, April 3, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Lets Go Soul Winning (Paperback)
Lets Go Soul Winning by Dr. Jack Hyles is an excellent guide in how to win a soul to christ. Throughout this book Dr. Hyles explains the many aspects of how to win a soul to christ with many biblical references. He discusses everything from before you lead someone to crist to after you lead someone to christ. I personally found this book very helpful, it went over things I already knew, and it also went over some things I had never even thought of. I would recomend this book to anyone who wants to improve their effectiveness in soul winning.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent guideline for soul winning, March 15, 1999
This review is from: Lets Go Soul Winning (Paperback)
I found this book to be an excellent step-by-step guide for a beginning soul winner who wants to learn the basics. With a church as big as Dr. Hyles has, I'd like to think that he's learned a few things over the years about how to lead a soul to Christ. Read this book through and then hit the streets!

5.0 out of 5 stars Christians reaching non-Christians in the twentieth century, October 19, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Lets Go Soul Winning (Paperback)
This small book deals with the "how to" of reaching unsaved (non-Christian) people. Dr Jack Hyles, long time pastor of the largest Baptist church in world history, shows in simple terms his method of explaining the Bible way of salvation.

He coined the method called the "Romans' Road", a look at several strategic verses from the New Testament book of Romans, and shows by example how to explain these salvation verses, and lead a person in a simple prayer of faith, asking Jesus Christ to save them.

As an itinerant evangelist, I recommend this practical little book for all born again believers wanting to obey the Great Commission of Jesus Christ, namely to preach the Gospel to every creature.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good -- not great, not bad., October 4, 2002

I don't see what all the fuss is about with people complaining about this book. (It's not even a 'book', it's really just a 'booklet' or 'pamphlet'). Those complaining, I think, expect a *textbook* for a college course on Evangelism. This is just practical advice for every day, presented in an easygoing, humorous manner -- even though it regards a vary serious subject. I do not take the Gospel and the Commission to preach it lightly; and neither, I hope, does Brother Hyles; however, those who complain of the book take THEMSELVES too seriously. If you are too high and mighty to be helped by something that is targeted at someone who is not as educated as you are (but written *by* somebody who is well-educated and well-experienced in the faith), remember:

'The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor.' Lk. 4:18.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply the Best, October 11, 2000

"Let's Go Soulwinning" was the best book on soulwinning that I have ever read. I really liked the beginning of the book where it said that there are 4 commands. Teach, go, baptize, and teach again. Often, we do the first 3 steps, but leave out the last one. That is probably one of the most important steps. If we don't teach them how to win others, how do we expect to see many souls converted? We can't do it all by ourselves. We need help. I really liked the end (step 34) where Dr. Hyles showed us how he does it. I like every step he took to getting that soul converted. He presents the gospel in a unique, interesting way that keeps the lost souls interested. It doesn't sound like he is just rambling on and on. I admire Dr. Hyles and I wish that I had the opportunity to go soulwinning with him. He is a man of God and I could learn a lot from him to further my soulwinning approach

1.0 out of 5 stars Slick sales tactics, June 30, 2007
This review is from: Lets Go Soul Winning (Paperback)
If you want to sell vacuum cleaners door to door, then I recommend this book. If you want to witness and preach the gospel to people, then only get this book if you want to know what not to do. Leading someone down the Romans' Road and getting them to pray a prayer has nothing to do with salvation.

1.0 out of 5 stars Evangelism, or door-to-door sales pitch?, December 3, 1999

As I write this, I'm looking over the chapter titles for this book. "Have a Definite Time to Go." "Be Soul-Conscious." "Be Clean and Neat." "Go Two By Two." "Be Complimentary." And so on.

So where, pray tell, is the *content* of the message? Well, chapters 21-24 are: "Show Him that He is a Sinner"; "Show Him the Price on Sin"; "Show Him that Jesus Paid the Price." That, and a few Bible references. Heck, the chapter titles are longer than the chapter contents! Hyles spends more time telling the reader not to smell bad (duh!) than he does explaining what, exactly, the Gospel is.

This raises the question: What's being preached here? Christ and him crucified? Or Jack Hyles' Handy-Dandy Handbook for Selling Salvation?
