4.0 out of 5 stars The complete Orange Bicycle is a mixed bag February 6, 2012
By Michael
In the course of their career the Bicycle went through a few changes of style, meaning that you might not like all the tracks on here, but are bound to find something you like. How much you'll find depends on your musical taste, as for myself I like about 50% of their work. A lot of their later music is completely unpsychedelic, more like typical late 60's pop-rock or R&B, which they do very well. EMI selected their best track 'Last Cloud Home' for their psych compilation, and that remains my favourite track by this band. Reading this review, it's may be difficult to judge whether I'm recommending it or not. But basically, this is something worth getting only if you've already got all the psych classics and are looking for more. In that case, this compilation can be an interesting look at an often neglected body of work. If you're looking for something more psychedelic though (Twink, Second Hand, early Traffic, Blossom Toes, July, etc) you may find this disappointing.
