Handy Pocket Reference To Most Used Terms,
By Jan Milo "Jan Milo" (Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Let's Talk an Oil Deal: Your Key to Oil Patch Lingo (Paperback)
This is a handy resource for many of the terms used in oil & gas deals. It is useful as a quick reference when talking details of a deal over the phone or out on the field. It's small size makes it easy to tuck into a hip or jacket pocket. If you own Mr. Orban's other book, "Money In The Ground", you'll find most terms listed there as well.

Ideal booket,

Like any and all industries today, a specialized language serves the oil and gas business. This booket is ideal for landowners, investors and anyone interested in exploration and development of hydrocarbon resources. This is a shortcut and a very handy one at that.

Amazon recommended this book as a companion purchase; however, this very small book is already included as a chapter in the larger "Money in the Ground-Insider's Guide to Oil and Gas Deals" book.
IMO, both books are overpriced for the information; however, they are easy-to-read.

it does its job, or provides the necessary information one wants to know, but not a terribly interesting read.

The book is a great quick reference for laymen needing to understand oil and gas drilling technical terminology required to negotiate leases and contract with drillers.

This book is handy to have on the desk as a quick reference guide. Given its size, however, don't expect exhaustive explanations on subjects. Great as a kick off point.
