This review is from: Let's Tap (Video Game)
Let's TAP is a simple concept that works, and it is a lot of fun in the process. The game uses your Wiimote as a motion detection device, which you place on a box or some similar object. I used the game case and it worked just fine, but I'm sure there are a variety of other things you can use. As you tap, the vibrations you make shake the controller, which is how the game detects you're tapping. While all the games use this, you can fortunately navigate the menus regularly by picking up the controller or just tap to navigate through them.
The game has 5 modes, all of which are described exactly in the product description. Rhythm Tap is my favorite of the bunch with a decent selection of mostly dance/electronic. While you won't find any recognizable songs in that mode, the selection doesn't disappoint if you like music games. Visualizer is confusing, it seems more for relaxation than an actual game. In that mode, the intensity and pattern of your tapping causes objects to appear when you trigger them. Which is fun to watch as you figure it out, just not something I feel is worth spending a lot of time with. I think the major obstacle with this game is the concept which is hard to sell when you explain it to others. If the idea of tapping to play sounds pretty foolish, you might find it hard getting into this sort of game. However if you like to try new things, you'll pleasantly be surprised with the mechanics. This game is definitely one you can come back to over and over again for some quick fun. Even though it says "party experience" on the cover, it's still enjoyable as a one player game from what I experienced. I can't say Let's TAP is the best game out there for the Wii, but it definitely stands out as a solid entry. Especially in comparison to a lot of the other casual party games for the system.

when i first played this game, i had fun, but it was just me..when i took it over my best friends house...all the guys went to the big screen and we stayed on the racing for HOURS!! the racing is by far the best...but the rythmtapping comes in a close second...(like a guitar hero with tapping)...the painting and waterplay and fireworks are cool, and the stack games are cool...the battle takes a minute to get the hang of though...overall...this is an excellent game for groups, very simple and easy to learn, which is a great strength!

Such an innovative and fun title! My friends and I spent hours playing the different game modes and we're obsessed!
Tap Runner is the most straight forward of the modes, but it is still quite creative and highly original, with a clean aesthetic and really terrific level designs. Alchemist on multiplayer is ridiculously good puzzle fun, especially for anyone who likes Bejeweled or other cascading games. The controls are a little tricky to learn but once you get into it, it's very tense as you race each other to remove chips from your tower without knocking it over. The beat songs are my favorite part, we all love rhythm games (DDR, Frequency, GH, etc.) and it is SO fun playing with four people. You tap along with songs and the notes are different colors to indicate how hard you should tap, along with some sustained "drumroll" notes. Usually all four players have the same notes, but sometimes they switch it up so there will be call and response between the players or each player will play part of a rhythm. Since you're using different amounts of force, depending on the note (which generally corresponds to the song) your box accordingly makes different sounds, so with four people it starts to sound like "Stomp" in your living room. Visualizer is fun and gorgeous and there's little secrets that will be revealed as you tap out your own beats... I think this might be less fun on solo mode, but definitely worth the money as a party game!

Tap on boxes?,

I bought this title for my nephew expecting to have hours of fun, while visiting my brother. The first requirement is to find some boxes that are closed on both sides so the Wiimote can sit flat up on the boxes. The second requirement is that you have a table, but I would say two tables because when you tap on one box, the other player's Wiimote is affected by your tapping. I'd say one table would be sufficient, as long as it's wide enough for a couple of players to spread out. The idea of tapping on a table seems to be fun, but tapping on a box is a lot less fun IMO, especially because you have to hear the tapping of a box for the hard taps. Tapping on a table sounds good and feels good.
OK, on to the actual gameplay. It seems to me that Taprunner is the main game, and would also be the most fun. I'd have to agree on this, but there just isn't a lot to keep you entertained for a long time, especially when tapping on boxes, and telling your opponent that his tapping is affecting your movements on screen. My nephew and me played several times, and unlocked all 16 games for Taprunner. There wasn't much variation, but the graphics are mesmerizing. After Taprunner, and unlocking all of the runs, we played Rhythm Tap. The songs were very good, with the song Let's Tap being excellent. Tapping on your boxes when given the cue is fun to play at least twice max. It became old real quick. Next was Bubble Voyager. In the 2 Player mode, it seemed boring and complicated, but in the 1 player mode made more sense. Overall, not very fun, but seemed very interesting in the Sega trailer. Finally, Silent Blocks was a lot of fun. I was really surprised at how much fun this minigame was. My nephew found it boring, but I found a Jenga type tapping game very relaxing. This is the only game that I would say has replay value for one player. After playing Let's Tap for a couple of hours, there wasn't much replay ability and my nephew wanted to play against me in other Wii games he owned.

I was pleasantly surprised when I picked this game up. I wasn't sure what to expect. The runner mode has graphics similar to Tron. And, there are a variety of ways to play: one mode has you tapping to the rhythm of songs, another is similar to Jenga but with tapping the blocks out of a stack. There's also a visualizer mode with Fireworks & other visual effects. I think this game has great replay value.

Easy tapping motion on a pillow where the Wii controler sits allows little ones to play against the parents and win :)
Graphics remind me of Troy, but a great price for a game which is fun for hours.

Since I have a family of four that include a 6 and 4 year old, we collect Wii games that promote interactivity and 2-4 players, with the preference at 4 players. This is the only game we have that has running races, and with the let's tap mechanism allowing you to tap to run, tap harder to jump, and time your jumps to accurately leap over hurdles, swing across vines, and land big jumps, the game is versatile, exciting, and fun. In our last four player game, everybody won a race, and the oldest had the most second place finishes. Several races finished with first and second place being separated by less than a second.
Let's Tap has an option to adjust the sensitivity of the tapping, so if you find yourself trying to run but you keep jumping (because you tap too hard), you can crank the sensitivity to accommodate your fat fingers. Adjust the sensitivity the other way to make it more challenging. There are several mini games within the Let's Tap game, including a "guitar hero/ddr" style rhythm tapping game, a combo-tap style Fireworks game, and one of those games where you try to knock out consecutive blocks. While these other games provide some entertainment, none of them match up to the running races. There are many running courses, and each course you complete advances you to another that has more fun obstacles to traverse. It's different than any other wii game you play and offers a nice change of pace to the ones you play on the regular. When it's a low price, I recommend adding it to your collection...especially if you like me and you want to make sure the Wii games you have play like a wii game should be played: Using the controller like a racket, ball, gun, airplane, lasso, musical instrument, etc.

I played this game with a friend of mine. We loved the tap runner game. the rhythm game was a little difficult for us. The rest of the games were fun to try out, but not something we'd spend a lot of time on. The concept of this game was really innovative in my opinion. My parents are not tech savy and not into playing video games, but when I enticed them to play, they picked up the concepts quickly and starting having a lot of fun too. I would strongly recommend checking this game out! It's worth at least renting just to check out the gameplay on the tap runner with a friend.

Tap has potential. I would like to see other games with this idea. I got it for my Grandma and all the people who come in and out of her house (which is a lot). I tried the paint which I found rather lame. I figure her two great grandkids under the age of ten would appreciate it. But it was pretty simplistic. Unfortunately, I didn't get the time to review the other parts of this game, but I may end up getting it for my Wii anyway. Just to actually get a chance to figure it all out. It's a good price when I bough it I got it for ten bucks. So, yeah, 4.95 is a great deal for a game like this one.
