Wilbert Harrison will be forever remembered for his 1959 million seller ""Kansas City"" and the classic ""Let's Work Together"". In 1969 he reinvented himself as a Blues orientated one man band and recorded these tracks for the American Sue Record label. The title track has been covered by many artists and has been re-titled from time to time particularly Canned Heat and Brian Ferry who reverted to the original lyric ""Let's Stick Together"" which was a world-wide hit. Harrison toured Europe with Creedence Clearwater Revival in 1971 and cemented his fame with these tracks.

For those few who have been looking for the best available version of this wonderful album from 1969, this is the one you want. While it is a remix from the original tapes, it is a great remix. Done under the supervision of Juggy Murray, the producer of this album shortly before his death, this remix does justice to the original album. The remix enhances the hidden sounds from the vinyl and the clarity is terrific, although there exists some occasional clipping distortion. This may be the only Harrison CD that contains the full six plus minute version of "Peepin' and Hidin.'" Whether it was his own music, like his version of this album's title track that Canned Heat had a big hit with in the summer of '69, or his 1959 Leiber and Stoller mega-hit "Kansas City", or doing a cover of "Stand By Me," this was an artist who could find the emotional center of a song and present it with a simplicity and grace firmly rooted in faith. The feeling was always right with Wilbert. That's hard to fake, duplicate or find in any work of art.
