This is a wonderfully gentle book on grief. As a grieving person this was the first book I could really connect with. He doesn't sugar-coat how difficult the process is, but he does give hope. It's a very easy read that let's you know that it does really hurt this bad, but you will get through it.

After my husband died of cancer at age 37 leaving me to raise our 10 and 12 year old children alone, I read every book on grief I could get my hands on. This was one of the first ones I read, and it was the most helpful. It put into words exactly what I was feeling and validated my grief. The pictures were beautiful and comforting. Since then I have ordered multiple copies of this book to give to others who have lost loved ones. Time and again I have heard how this book has helped others through those first few dark weeks after a death. It is a book of solace and hope. I would recommend it to anyone who has experienced a loss.

I was given this book by a special friend following the passing of my beloved husband of forty years. I tried several times to read it and could not, but when the time was right, I found this to be of great comfort in my healing process. I have since given this book to several others who have lost loved ones and will continue to do so. Thank you, Billy Sprague for this wonderful book.

This book is tender and sensitive. I have not experienced grieving a loved one but believe this would be helpful. I have given it twice to people grieving a loved one and have heard back from one that it meant a lot to them.

Excellent book for someone who is grieving a death. Especially if it is someone close to you. I give this book to family and friends. I have my own copy too.

This is a realistic view of the grieving process from a personal story by the author. It is beautifully written and photographed.

My mother passed away seven months ago, and I found this "letter" to be very comforting in knowing that my grief process was not out of the ordinary. I purchased three books: One for my brother and sister, one for a co-worker whose 22-year-old son died in a freak home accident, and one for a dear friend who lost her mother, a sister, and a brother-in-law--all within two weeks. I strongly recommend this book to others who are hurting.

This is a must have to anyone entering the passage of grief. I will read this book many time as I face my grief and come though it. Thank you Billy Sprague for taking my hand. Hellen Spear

This book was exceptional especially after the loss of my long-time boyfriend. Billy wrote of the grieving process and how it is normal to grieve, even for a Christian. I would recommend this book to anyone who has lost a loved one.

I have reordered this book several times. I bought one and read through it when my father passed away 8 years ago. I liked it so well that I purchased more copies to have at the schools where I am a school counselor. I also give a copy of the book to close friends when they lose a loved one and have had positive feedback.
