5.0 out of 5 stars A True Testament about Strength and Endurance, December 8, 2007
This review is from: A Letter to My Sisters: The Way Out (Paperback)
Voncele Savage's experiences as chronicled in this first book remind all of how how important it is to never lose sight of loving yourself. She outlines in simple terms how easily men and women and get caught up in snares and forget who they really are---and what they can do in their lives. She doesn't preach, but helps the reader to see what type of behavior should never be acceptable to anyone and why.

If you are looking for a book that is good for all young men and women to read, then go no further this this book.

Even though I'm a man, I've gained a lot of ensight from this book. Being the husband of a formely abused woman, reading this book has helped me to understand where she's coming from (most of the time :)). I recommend A Letter To My Sisters, by Voncel Savage to anyone who feels trapped within any unproductive relationship. I also recommend it to thoughs seeking a way out. It will compel you to draw closer to God and to develop sound relationships!

5.0 out of 5 stars Right On The Money For Accuracy And Helpfulness!!, September 29, 2007
This review is from: A Letter to My Sisters: The Way Out (Paperback)
This book has given me good information to help me in my own abusive situation. It shows that I'm not alone and that it does happen to far more women and children within the church organization than what's known. Thank you for showing me that - alot of times - people are ordained by people and not God, and that the 'title of authority' is placed upon them by religious organizations, and - again - not God. You've shown me that God does love me after all, because my God has shown me, through this book, the way out!

5.0 out of 5 stars Finding God's Will, July 1, 2008

This review is from: A Letter to My Sisters: The Way Out (Paperback)
Great Job Voncele! You eloquently communicated that God's will is not the same for all of us in every situation of life. I think that's wonderful. There is His collective will for us all -- to be saved and all that that encompasses. However, there is His individual will for every gem in His collection. You made it plain girl. Your book is inspiring and encouraging. You kept it real. You made it clear that The Way Out is through the will of God. You made it clear that -- although divorce is always an option -- The Way Out is not always through divorce. You made it clear that The Way Out is always through prayer, fasting, studying the word, and the leading of God's Holy Spirit. You made it clear!! It is truly a job well done. I reccommend this book to anyone who is the victim of abuse. This sister thanks you for your honesty and the courage to share.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Inspiring message of life, hope and healing, September 15, 2008
This review is from: A Letter to My Sisters: The Way Out (Paperback)
I have had the privilege of meeting Ms. Savage. Her story is compelling and her strength shows in the way she communicates openly about her life. Her book reflects the pain, healing and the road to forgiveness, including self forgiveness. When reading A Letter to My Sisters, I felt all of the emotions she felt, as I too have traveled down a similar road. This is a book that is not a 'one time' read. It is one that should be used to guide, teach and remind us that we, as sisters, are to love ourselves becase we are worthy to be treated as queens and our little girls as princesses. Don't accept anything less than the very best that life has to offer from anyone! Ms. Savage, your courage and ability to share your life on paper is truly a blessing. God Bless You, Shelia E.
