5.0 out of 5 stars Great Explanation of the Prison Epistles, March 28, 2010

Foulkes' commentary on Ephesians is not only a classic, but a great work to help you understand this Epistle and others like it. Foulkes' Introduction gives an accurate and succinct summary of the historical context of Ephesians as well as laying out the many historical debates over authorship and address.
In the commentary section Foulkes capably breaks down ever verse and lays out many of the sometimes controversial topics. His understanding of the concepts of Election and Predestination and Paul's view and use of them are the best I've ever read. He also covers relationships between husbands and wives, rules for Holy living, and the role of the Holy Spirit.
All in all a great read, you'll be glad you went through it.

This review is from: The Letter of Paul to the Ephesians: An Introduction and Commentary, 2nd Edition (The Tyndale New Testament Commentaries) (Paperback)
I need this book for a class I want to take. The only problem was a mark on the front and I expected as least as much. The inside was perfect, much better than I expected.
