These pouches do exactly what they are supposed to do. I use them with the Scotch thermal lamintor and I've never had a problem with them getting stuck or coming out with bubbles. I didn't have a problem until I compared them to the 3 mil Scotch pouches. I noticed a huge difference when I set them side by side. I laminated a set of heavy duty cardstock flashcards from Veritas press. The Scotch ones were very clear and sturdy. When you held the card horizontally it laid completely flat. When I held up the one laminated with these pouches the edges curled up slightly and it was bowed in the middle (keep in mind, the card was sturdy enough to lay flat on its own without any lamination). Once I put them side by side I noticed that these pouches had a cloudy appearance to them. The Scotch laminated cards were much more clear and vibrant. Of course this wasn't completely obvious until I put them side by side. I realize this probably isn't an issue for someone doing small projects at home, especially if they've never used Scotch pouches. In this particular situation I had spent over $100 on the flashcards so I was sensitive to quality issues. With that said, these are significantly cheaper than the Scotch pouches so I would recommend them for large, inexpensive projects. I will definitely continue to use them for our homeschool supplies. For smaller, more important projects I'm going to continue to use the Scotch pouches since the difference is pretty obvious to me. I definitely wouldn't mix the two pouches for a project as the difference is noticable. These definitely do exactly as they're supposed to but when they are presented as a comparable product to Scotch, they really don't deserve more than 3 stars.

These pouches are just like as though you got it done at a professional store! I highly recommend it !

These laminating pouches are the same or better than other brands purchased through retail stores. What's the catch? There isn't any. You get a terrific product at an unbelievably reasonable price. You can't go wrong, in my opinion.

After using 50 sheets of the Scotch Thermal Laminating pouches and now 25 sheets of this brand, I can tell you there ARE differences.

First the good:
1. WOW, these are half the price of the leading brand! That's good because I use a lot!
2. The end result is usually the same.

The Not So Good:
1. CREASES. These are just not as sturdy. While it claims to be 3MM just like the Scotch, it feels thinner. These pouches are susceptible to moving when being put in the laminator and the result is creases on the final laminated item. I never, ever had that with Scotch and I've had it THREE TIMES already with this brand in one sitting. Even when extra careful, it's still a possibility there will be creases. I won't use these for anything important.

2. They also tend not to laminate quite as eaisly. I have my laminator on the 5+MM setting because the end wasn't sealing properly.

UPSHOT:
I'll use these for the teaching things for the kids or anything that isn't important and/or can be very easily reproduced. I will always keep the Scotch brand on-hand for the other things.

These laminating pouches are good, I thought they were thicker, but nonetheless they do the job very good.

After taking a look at the prices being charged for laminating pouches at big-box office stores, I decide to see if Amazon might sell them for less. I was pleasantly surprised to find these for a fraction of what the office stores charge. After using about 30 of them I can verify they are every bit as good as the more expensive options. All sealed flawlessly with no bubbles, creases, or irregularities in adhesion. They are not as thick as some pouches out there, but for my application that was not a factor.

If you want to save yourself some money, buy these from Amazon not your local office store. They're just as good and much less expensive!

I bought a Purple Cows laminator at Costco for cheap, and these laminating pouches work wonderfully in the laminator. I know that use of anything but Purple Cows brand laminating pouches voids the warranty on the laminator, but it was well worth the risk to avoid spending too much on laminating pouches. I bought two of these packages of 100 pouches, and I have already used most of them up, with very few issues throughout all the lamination. Any issues were due to my lack of skill in loading the laminating pouches in a straight line into the laminating machine. Other than my lack of skill, I had no problems getting the pouches to seal smoothly.

These pouches are excellent. They're hinged on one short end, making it very simple to get materials inside. I bought them for use with my ProvoCraft YourStory 37-5000 Book Binder and Laminator, and they work perfectly -- I would bet they are the exact same pouches ProvoCraft uses, reselling them from Universal. Can't find any difference, except a massive price difference. Provocraft sells them for $4 for 12 pouches, or about 33 cents each. Here, they're less than half that price.

As a special ed teacher, I go through a lot of laminating sheets. I have bought this product before and was pleased with the price and the quality. This time, the sheets were sub-par. For every sheet that laminated correctly, there were the same amount of sheets that did not laminate at all. I wasted at least half of my sheets. I was very disappointed.

I used these pouches to make bookmarks for my son's birthday party favors. I had two Scotch pouches that came with my laminator and I used them first. They came out perfect. Based on all the good reviews, I was expecting the same from the Universal pouches but was disappointed to find that the bookmarks that were laminated with these pouches were warped/bowed in the middle. It didn't ruin the day by any means, but I am a little bummed that I have 95 more of these pouches to use knowing there is a superior product I could be using. I think next time I need to buy them, I'll stick with the Scotch brand.
