Roy Alden, designer
Who can deny the importance of a logo? A good brand identity will sell a product or confirm the legitimacy of any project. In designing this graphic element to be successful in the global marketplace, flexibility is key. A logo must translate on paper, over a fax, over the internet, and be easily recognizable in every language. Colors and shapes must carefully be considered in order to effectively cross all cultural barriers. It must be timeless in its style and not be caught in current trends.
The logos presented in this book are exciting, new, and varied. Most have successfully met the requirements of a successful global design while others are on the way. While this book shows the logos presented on letterhead, it is clear that the business world is moving away from paper to electronic media.
Assuredly, the next volume in this collection will show more electronic examples of interactive logos, plus fantastic aspects that only the creative genius of the graphic design world could imagine.

Good, but not Best,

This is not a bad book. I looked at it quite a bit when it first arrived, but I'm sorry to say I did not find anything too inspiring about the chosen works. Now it spends all of its time on my shelf. However, I get more out of a much smaller book at a much smaller price called Layout Index by Jim Krause. The Layout Index spends 90% of its time on my desk and inspires me regularly.
