More About the Author

David E. Carter is the top selling producer of "creative compilation" books in the history of graphic design. He has more than 110 books in print on the topics of logos, graphic design and advertising. David produced the very first logo book as a self-described "kid in my twenties" and that launched a large increase in interest in "creative compilation" books.

He books were published by HarperCollins from 1996 through 2008, when he saw major changes taking place in the publishing industry. As he re-charged his battery, he saw the potential of eBooks, and began his plan for "what's next."

In 2010, David announced that he would once again be a books pioneer - moving to the eBooks world exclusively. He founded Bright Books, which has 16 eBooks scheduled for release in 2012. (See www.brightbooks.com)

In addition to his work in books, David is a multiple Clio Award winner for his advertising campaigns. His work in television production has won seven Emmy Awards.

His recent documentary - one that he calls "my love poem to baseball" - was screened at the Baseball Film Festival at the National Baseball Hall of Fame at Cooperstown, New York in 2010.

4.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring, June 21, 2000
This review is from: Letterheads in the 3rd Dimension (Paperback)
The book features around 160 different sets of letterheads. Each set is usually completed by callingcards and envelopes, which can result in mind-boggling design-solutions. Quite often the callingcards are the real stars. In one example, metallic fibres are woven into the card, in another, the card is printed and cut as luggage check cards. The only disappointment is the quality of the printed photographs, as they are sometimes quite blurred (that keeps it from the fifth star). Otherwise a must!
