My daughter is 7 1/2 and rarely plays with toys. Pens, pencils, paper, paint, scissors and glue are her favorite pasttimes! This book was the perfect present! I got it for her for Christmas and she's spent hours with it! Letters to friends; lists of her favorite things; she's even used it for "quirky" spelling assignments! It's a great book and I would recommend it to anyone. Besides - who doesn't doodle?! This book shows you how to doodle with style!! Like all Klutz books, this one is made very sturdy and I'm sure it will be a favorite of all four of our little rugrats! Thanks, Klutz!

This lettering book was really great! it had many fun ideas that i use with everything now. From posters to birthday cards, this lettering kit really helps me to make those "straight and perfect" lines that everybody likes. With good clean cuts and extra shapes for your projects, this kit really is helpful and a good tool. Also explaining how to use different techniques for coloring (such as shading and designing), this kit also explains how you can make up your own letters, and don't just have to use the helpful stencils they include. This was a great book, which i use for my friends and myself. It was a smart buy, and I LOVE IT!!

This is a great birthday gift. I have two girls, 5 and 8, and they will sit with this lettering kit and doodle for hours. The price on Amazon beats the stores if you can get the free shipping.

you have no idea how creative this book is! it was fantastic during valentines day. I now love making cards for eveybody. they use steps to show you new styles of lettering and are very pretty. I probably spent two days just looking at the book! I would recomend this to kids only 12+

This is an amazing little book for kids. Whenever my middle school child would have a school project to do, she would bring out my scrapbooking stuff and a lettering book of mine. I saw this and bought it for her and it comes with its own cool stencils and lots of neat ideas for making letters. When they have to make posters or fancy titles for papers, this book comes out and they get good ideas on how to make their school work look nicer.
We have even bought this book as a birthday present and it was well received. Amazon has the best price, I got stuck paying retail for the ones I bought, no more though.

As soon as I got this, I was off and running! This is all you need to create great lettering for anything you want to put headings, titles or labels on.

The letters you make with the five sheets of stencils will be about an inch, an inch and a half tall, so whatever you letter with those is going to be very big. But these are really nice stencils, with rulers on two of them, and special edges on the others, and fun shapes as well as letters, so these are going to be useful even after you finish the book.

There are tips in the book to make these big letters very artistic, so it's customizable. There are also ideas, instructions, and examples of ways you can do neat alphabets freehand.

And you also get four markers, eight double sided colored pencils (which were not that good, really, making this more of a four and a half star rating than a true five), an eraser, a mechanical pencil, and a pencil sharpener, two sheets of sticker paper, and a pack of practice paper.

This book has five stencils (two different fonts, uppercase and lowercase, plus one for cool symbols - and each stencil has a different edge you can use to make nifty lines) and detailed explanations about how to use the stencils to make, well, awesome letters.

Then, like most Klutz books, they go on to explain how you can do pretty much the same thing WITHOUT their supplies, going freehand.

However, please be aware of the age range. It says 8+, and looking through it I doubt many children younger than that age are going to get much out of it. If nothing else, this book assumes they can already read well enough to understand the instructions with little to no help.

I gave this to my creative 6 year old daughter who loves to draw and write. I'm not sure who likes this book more - her or me! It is a beautifully illustrated book with lots of creative lettering styles - some more complicated than others. It also includes a couple of stencils, which will help her get started until she is old enough to master some of the more involved styles. I know she will have hours of fun copying the pictured letters and I'm sure will be inspired to create some of her own. I love this book so much I ordered several more to give as gifts.

The book has tons of creative ideas on how to write/draw letters in a fancy way. My daughter uses it for school projects, making cards for her friends and making posters for her room.

Bought this for my 12 year old. Both her and her 14 year old sister love all the creative things you can do with this book. There are all kinds of stencils and letter styles to copy and spell out your own style. Both of my daughter's friends love receiving all the creations made with the help of this book.From notes to birthday cards ... the girls think the crazy, quirky lettering is the coolest!
