Timesaving techniques for producing well-formed, good-looking lettering in all the major styles.

Drawing letters quickly, accurately, and gracefully is an essential skill for artists and designers, even in the computer age. Bill Gray shows how to make the basic strokes for capitals and lowercase forms; get letter and word spacing right; reproduce the characteristics of any alphabet; produce extended, condensed, and outline versions of a type family; and more. Dozens of specimens serve as models of fine lettering.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Book on Lettering, August 22, 2008
This review is from: Lettering Tips (Paperback)
This is the best book on hand lettering I've seen so far. It comprehensively describes the how-to's for executing the various lettering styles. While definitely old-school, it's perfect for people working on their manual skills without computer aid.
