Steinberg's book is a reflection on over tweny years of letter writing in clinical practice. The use of examples, followed by a series of notes and comments, gives each chapter a clear focus with topics covering most of the forseeable areas in clinical practice. While the book is probably more psychiatry focussed than the title would suggest, it represents a valuable resource for any mental health clinician.
