Great Unknown Pop,
By Bruce Walker (Charlotte, NC USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Letters From the Desk of Count S Van Delecki (Audio CD)
This CD has been in my collection for years and continues to be one of my favorites. From the catchy tune (and pretty ambiguous lyrics) of "What's Wrong With Yo-Yo?" to the dark, haunting song "Red" with its mythological references, Jamie Hoover and Bryan Shumate have demonstrated a rare ability to write intelligent lyrics with memorable melodies. Musicians Jim Brock and Don Dixon make appearances on the disk and though he is not listed as a producer, Don Dixon is credited with "Song Sequence." If you pick this disk up, you may find it in your favorites for many years to come.
