Book Description

May 14, 2010
Defying all logic and reason, the dead returned from death. All over the world, dead human bodies rose and walked the Earth in search of living human flesh to consume. Despite the valiant efforts of the living's vast armies and superior weapons, the dead won the Zombie War. Defeated, the surviving governments of the world fled to the safety of their underground bases, leaving the last living survivors to their fate. All alone, trapped, for them there was no last second rescue, no escape. The Dead surrounded them, pounding on their barricaded doors, smashing in their boarded windows. It was their last chance to say goodbye, their last chance to shout out in defiance. It was time to write their final words. For decades, the dead ruled the Earth unchallenged, but their reign was finite. In time, they returned to the dust from which they came. When the living survivors emerged from their underground shelters, they would discover hundreds of thousands of tattered decaying messages, the letters left behind by the last to perish in the Zombie Apocalypse. These are those "Letters From The Dead".

5.0 out of 5 stars What really happened from those who were there... May 31, 2010
Format:Paperback
Tied together by the ultimate horror of a zombie apocalypse, we have 60 some letters from those who didn't make it. Very sad at times, humorous occassionally and exciting always, it's an interesting concept,to hear from the ones who didn't survive the zombie war. A great concept executed to perfection. Lets hope for a part two!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Zombie stuff June 9, 2010
Format:Paperback
This book is super awesome post-apocalyptic zombie content. It does read as if you are either looking far back into history as some sort of history lesson or perhaps that you too are stuck in this same world along with the writers of the letters, and you came across them in some mail truck. It does make you kinda feel like it actually happened, I read it on vacation on a houseboat in lake powell and I couldn't put it down 'til I was finished. I handed it to one of my friends who previously hasn't read any zombie stuff, doesn't even like zombie movies, and she loved it too. If you are into zombie books, for sure a good one to add to your collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Last post? Not Likely! July 14, 2010
Format:Paperback
First off, yes, I'm in the book.Secondly, it wouldn't matter if I wasn't. Why? Simply this:the book is made up of over 60 letters from the poor souls that did not make it through the zombie outbreak. They give the views of the lost, the scared, the resigned, the terrified and the 'just don't give a damn!'. It is the kind of book that one can pick up and read right through, or on the other hand pick and choose what stories to read, as they are in a non-linear fashion.
Letters from the dead are letters found all over the world by people who survived, they are the last testaments to those poors souls who did not make it, and they make fantastic reading, so please, don't let them be written in vain...

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Short Zombie Fiction July 12, 2010
By David
Format:Paperback
IF you like Zombie fiction you'll probably enjoy this book. If you like short stories then you'll probably enjoy this book. Aaaand if you enjoy the combination of the two then thi is a really good anthology. There's almost 70 short letters in the book that really come from a wide variety of perspectives and voices.

Like any anthology, some pieces are longer than others, some pieces are better, etc.. but overall the quality of the work is very good and as a zombie fan it's a very cool piece to add to your collection at a very good price too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Read selection #31 first November 2, 2010
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Ok, this book of "mock" letters reads fast. I was laughing aloud at letter #31 pertaining to the principal at a high school and his "Z Mail". This is a fun collection of letters. Each letter has a unique feel to it. I was impressed!

2.0 out of 5 stars A bit boring July 23, 2010
By migutse
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Im a fan of the zombie genre and thought that this might be a good read. I finished the book quickly in a few days, but I have to say i was starting to get really bored at the end. The problem was that dispite having different writers, the stories seemed like copies of each other. After you read one, you would know how it goes: im writing this letter to somebody, lost somebody close, im stuck in my house/where-ever, now the zombies come/im gonna kill myself. There were a few good stories, which made it worth reading to the end, but mostly it was disappointing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous First Impression! June 19, 2010
Format:Paperback
Wow! Just browsed through the free sample here, and I now MUST get this book! Written with such realism, it's hard to believe the letters are purely fictional.

Beautifully conceived, edited, and written. Simply a must-read for any zombie, apocalypse, or TEOTWAWKI student/enthusiast.

(no, I don't have anything to do with the book, and I have nothing to gain by posting this review)

I can't wait to get my own copy and read the whole thing! :D
