Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

Grade 2-5-With colorful postcard-sized photos and accompanying travel notes, these titles are bound to hold readers' attention. The format, whereby the author writes a first-person account of a trip, provides a good, accessible introduction to each of these places. The entries are loaded with historical and geographical facts, with an occasional anecdote such as an account of walking across the Victoria Falls Bridge: "We did, and we got soaked, even though we were wearing raincoats!" The handwritten text and use of colloquial language ("I snapped tons of photos of the falls-It was awesome") will help youngsters identify with the narrator in each book. The lively presentations will appeal to browsers as well as report writers.
