OK, I never read "Letters from Cuba" but I saw the play,
This review is from: Letters from Cuba and Other Plays (Paperback)
at the Signature Theater on West 42nd Street in NYC. It was a stand-out. At one point, the dancer receives a letter from a young relative, thanking her for the gift of a can of peas. Peas! And then goes on to say how useful the empty can was, after they had enjoyed eating the peas.
An empty can! Because Fornes is unlikely to be staged in most cities, I highly recommend reading her. |
