Decently Done Film On Illness, Life and Death
on November 5, 2010
A based-on-a-true-story-movie about growth and change, life and death, and the process involved in all of those. So-so in the likability department because of some cheesiness and predictability, and the subject matter. Don't expect to be untugged in the emotion department because there are definite heart string pulling moments. But not so sad that you will go through a box of tissues unless you are struggling with huge emotional stuff.
I think this would be a terrific movie to watch with a kid who might be going through a situation with a friend or relative with a serious illness. Dying is a part of life and this film handles death with sensitivity and dignity.
