Book Description

October 15, 1998
In a light-hearted manner, K.V. Davis has used "Letters to the Wizard" to tell a story, to explaine quite a bit about the Underground World of the American Indians, Tarot Cards, Gypsy fortune-telling and the like. In doing so, he invites us to come along with him while his heroine, Danica "Danny" Kelso follows a lead on a story, solves a more than ten year old mystery and, just incidentally, mind you, finds the truse love of her life. The problem seems to be that this "love-of-her-life" is already in love --- with a girl who has been dead for over ten years. As for all of the hocus-pocus, abracadabra nonsence about magic ... well, you just won't find it here. So with that, on with the show.

Editorial Reviews

Review

For the past couple of years, it has been my pleasure to read various manuscripts submitted by Mr. K. Vernon Davis. The topics range from SciFi/Mystery to small business "How-to" to I-don't-know-what-all. Each time I open a package from Kriss containing his latest manuscript on computer disk, I am pleasantly surprised. One of the things that surprises me most is the broad range of interests he has. About the Author

K.Vernon Davis has been writing nonfiction articles for many trade magazines for almost 4 decades. His first novel was "Gretchen (awakens the Eternal Man)". Vernon's next manuscript, "Financial Survival For everyone" contained data for setting up a dozen or so businesses that could be opened and operated from home with a more-than-reasonable chance of making an honest profit, facts about franchises and the like. It also contained knowledge about investments in rare metals, information about incorporation and much, much more. It is quite a change from his first book, to be certain. Now we find a book about modern witchcraft, fortune-telling, art, sculpture, magazine reportage, the La Brea Tar Pits, museums, lost manuscripts and everything but the plans for a home-made nuclear bomb. Witchcraft and Wizardry? Magic? Love Potions? Forget about "black magic" and the like. The arcania of so-called "black magic" is usually nothing more than a person's ability to focus the ! negative energies and evil that is already in them. New Age magic? It is closer to being a meditative force than any form of magic.
