The author of numerous publications in medicine and the Christian Faith, he teaches and preaches on a range of subjects including the care of children, marriage and parenting. He lives with his wife, Linda and eight children in a too-small house in Honolulu.

Dr. Callahan writes simply yet throughly, offering examples to advice he offers, much of it from his own experiences of raising many children. This book can be read as daily devotions or in one sitting. As new parents, we are excited, yet a bit scared that we will make mistakes while raising our children. Dr. Callahan's wisdom to follow God's will is so important and we really enjoyed learning how he and his wife have relied on the Lord to raise their blessings. My husband and I use this book as a reference, taking from it prayers and practical advice to apply to our own life. We hope and pray that Dr. Callahan will find time to write another book!
