5.0 out of 5 stars It comes as no surprise..., September 2, 2005

Oh man! I wore this cassette out when I originally got it! The earlier release was titled "Shout It Out", and it did have a different cover, but this was one of my top 10 favorite albums of the time. I saw these guys in Seattle when they toured with Saxon on their "Crusader" tour, and it was so loud I was physically sick after they got done! Great, melodic stuff, and good energy within the band make this a worthy re-buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars classic NWOBHM, May 2, 2005

This album reminds me of Highway Chile's "Storybook Heroes". Both underappreciated. Heavy Pettin, in my opinion, was Scotland's answer to early Def Leppard, however, containing more seriousness. Hard, melodic metal from the great and saddly missed 80s.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent Early 80s Hard Rock!, November 13, 2005
This review is from: Lettin Loose (Audio CD)
Heavy Pettin were a band from Glasgow, Scotland that never got the recognition they deserved. This album was produced by Brian May of Queen and released in 1983. The lead single/video was the classic In And Out Of Love (great riff!), better than Bon Jovi's song of the same name. Other good songs are Broken Heart, Love Times Love, Victims of the Night, Rock Me (great chorus), and Devil in her Eyes. The production could have been a little better (sorry Brian), but then again it sounds kind of raw the way rock should be. If you are looking for some good hard rock before the hair metal bands of the late 80s then I recommend this album.
