Letting Go Slow is Lorrie's first pure country album in six years. It reunites her with producer Richard Landis who produced some of her biggest hits. The album includes beautiful versions of such songs as I've Done Enough Dying For Today and Ode To Billie Joe (which has never been covered by a country artist) as well as new compositions such as Slow, all made timeless by Lorrie's gorgeous vocals.

I went to see Joe Diffie, Mark Chesnutt, and Lorrie Morgan perform a week ago. Near the end of the concert, she said she had a new CD and was going to sing a song from it. (Most of us were just like you at a concert. New music? Will it be any good?) She sang the new song "Slow" from this album. I knew instantly it was a phenomenal song. She totally blew me away! It fits her voice so perfectly. I hurried to the booth outside to buy a copy and have been listening to this on repeat for days.
The more times I listen to this, the more I am in love (actually, infatuated) with it. She is a country queen of ballads and "Slow" is a great one for the broken-hearted. That song is so Lorrie Morgan. It's the magic that happens when the right voice is matched with the right song.
"Jesus and Hairspray" is a great little boot-tapping song - it honestly sounds like something that could be on country radio in 2016.
"Something About Trains" is rapidly becoming my second favorite off the album.
I love them all - the covers are outstanding. There isn't a song on this that I could do without.
People are always complaining that modern country music isn't so hot. Try turning off the radio buzzards, who won't play Lorrie's music, and listening to this, instead.
I was a Lorrie fan way back in the day, but I'm a superfan, now. I honestly think this is her best album, front to back. Whether or not the country hierarchy thinks so, doesn't matter a bit to me.Read more ›
Lorrie fans have been thirsting for Lorrie music for over five years now since her last solo album was released. She definitely satisfies that thirst. Lorrie should gain a lot of new fans with the music.
The title track written by her talented daughter in law and ex back up singer tells the story of love on the brink of going away. This is a great cut and there are many other cuts on this album that Lorrie does phenomenal covers for.
Do yourself a favor and download this album on your mobile device and buy an extra copy to pop in your cd player. I assure you that you will NOT regret it.

It was okay. I love Lorrie Morgan, although this album was okay. I thought this was lacking her true sound and talent. Just a little let down.Published 22 days ago by Shauna Gilbert
