This lettuce has been the easiest vegetable I have grown, along with spinach. Both just sprang right up from seeds. It came up fast and is producing much faster than I had expected.

I did have to get some "safe" spray because there were gnat-like things flying around and I wanted to make sure not to spray my lettuce with anything I didn't want to eat later. The carrots nearby may have attracted those flying creatures. Oh well. That happens. My Romaine Parris Lettuce looks BEAUTIFUL and tastes delicious.

I started by soaking the seeds in water and then planted them in a heated seed-starting tray with a heated mat and it's self-watering. That made it easy, even for me! As soon as the seeds sprouted, I transferred them to the Earth Box and almost all of my seeds/seedlings are doing well.

I wish I had planted more, but I sure am enjoying it, although it's almost too pretty to pick. Next time I'm going to plant much more of it.

I used these in my AeroGarden and they worked wonderfully, I'm looking forward to using these seeds in my out door garden.

I tilled a little space in my garden, added some new soil and then planted a handful of seeds in three rows. Two weeks later they're growing! It's very exciting and they grow so quickly with very little maintenance needed! I water them every morning before work.

Although only about 40% of what I planted actually came up, I can't honestly say whether it is the fault of the seeds or just a bad growing season so far this year. The plants that did grow are nice and sturdy.

Last night I was able to get my first harvest and man did I get one! Just from one packet, I got about 20 heeads of romaine and they are very nice looking. Excited to try them since my family loves Caesar Salad! Worth it and so cheap!

Romaine Lettuce is easy to grow and adds variety to a garden plot. I have planted this variety several times with good result. The seed is reliable and germinates readily. Tips for planting:

1. Make sure your garden plot gets at least 8 hours of sunlight per day for optimal growth
2. Prepare the soil by tilling and perhaps adding a fertilizer (10:10:10, or manure). This will cause the plant to grow faster and with more green lush.
3. Water every day lightly for about 2 weeks, then water every other day. Lettuce has a high water content, so the soil cannot get too dry or the plant will begin to wilt. Some peat moss worked into the soil before planting helps maintain water.
4. Since the seeds are small it is hard to get the plants spaced properly. Once the sprouts come up, space the plants out to all for optimal growth.
5. When harvesting, clip the leaves with a scissors rather than tearing.

This is a great tasting lettuce and is sure to please.

Very nice addition to a great salad - will harvest many healthy heads soon! Started indoors and just stuck the pots in the garden - easy - salad anyone?

Seeds germinate and grow well. Planted these around late September. They're doing very well. Because the leaves are flatter than red leaf, this Romaine lettuce is much easier to wash. Tastes great too.

This page CLEARLY shows that the seed is being purchased from BOTANICAL INTERESTS. What I was sent was from TODDS SEED, a year old company I've never heard of that according to its website is affiliated with Buy Wholesale Cheap. I wrote to them and got a snotty reply that I should trust their product and wonderful (self-affirmed reputation). If you ordered a Toyota and were delivered a Ford..would you really want to hear that??? The only good thing I have to say about this transaction is that they did refund my money.
