Even if you don't understand the words, you can understand Mr. Mey's songs. From a tradition dating back to the troubadours, he turns life into music with an incredibly creative innate sense of melody. Even without understanding the text, you can empathize with him as he lost his red bear, Or hear the hope in his voice as he sings: Du kannst Fliegen, Ja, du kannst.". If you do understand the text, then you are certainly in for a treat. Without malice or "Schadenfreude", he conveys a gentle social criticism, and a very friendly vision for the future.

He is like red wine, geting better and better over the years. No music for the background, you have to listen careful to the words.

I have two of his other CDs and am happy with this one (a few of the songs won't go on my iPod, though). Reinhard Mey writes such great lyrics and makes great music. A very thoughtful singer/songwriter.
