I just wanted to post a quick review for now because we've just used these on one job so far, but wanted to get something up here.

The first time I tried Rogue 10x25 binoculars was in a local pawn shop; the set I examined were dusty and the store windows were very dirty- in spite of these obstacles, the Rogue images were what you might call "better than real" in that the optics seemed to actually improve on my normal vision. The focus was responsive and positive with no discernible creep.

That store was asking for a price within a few dollars of Amazon's new price, it turned out, so I just went for a set of new ones here.

I am using mine primarily for surveillance work and in that role they have been very well suited. Compact yet easy to grip thanks to the rubberized exterior, fast focusing and sharp imaging are features which make the job a lot easier.

There are two little tubes that eyeglass wearers can extend which give users a better picture while wearing glasses. I've never seen this feature on binoculars before and am happy to say it really works.

The Rogue come with a case that has a Velcro-close flap, a somewhat spartan belt loop and not really enough room inside to fit the binoculars and the supplied carrying strap easily. I suppose it is better than nothing but would have been nice if it would fit both pieces better. Its as though the case designers were not advised that there would be a neck strap.

They haven't been beat up very much -yet, I expect in a little while we'll find out how sturdy they really are. I'll see if I can remember to do an update in a few months' time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome quality binoculars, January 8, 2011

This review is from: Leupold Rogue 10x50mm Porro (Sports)
These Leupolds are as good or better than anything you're going to find up to the $500 mark.

Great clarity, rugged construction, excellent quality construction. I use these mainly for astronomy. Images are sharp and there is no blurring on the edges. I also have a pair of 10x30 Yosemites for general use and they are just as outanding as the Rogue.

The only bad thing is that they are made in China. You have to go up to the Gold Ring series to get binoculars that are actually made in the US. Of course, the gold rings are around $1000.00.

:-)

Leupold seems to have really good quality control for the items made in china though.

Completely satisfied.Leupold Yosemite 8X30Mm Binocularblack 62515

These are compact and beautiful if I had the cash I would order a backup.
Sharp, clear, and clean image is all i can say.
I'm looking forward to purchasing the Leupold Kenai 30x, 25-60x80mm HD Straight Kit someday soon :)
