Each Alumina flip-back lens cover features a powerful neodymium magnet to hold it securely closed over the lens, along with triple O-ring seals for maximum protection from the elements. More significantly, the cover flips open easily when you want to view an object through your Leupold VX-L 50mm riflescope, so you don't need to manually remove the cover before targeting an object. The cover is even clockable, so you can rotate it to open in any direction. Other details include a machined-aluminum precision construction, a low-profile design, and quick and easy operation. This particular cover is designed for Leupold VX-L and standard EP 50mm lenses, but covers are available for a variety of other sizes of eyepieces and objective lenses.

I bought these covers for my VX-L 4.5-14 50mm last year. They are very well constructed and work great. There are a couple of rubber/plastic aftermarket alternatives available for a lot less money, but they are for standard scopes, and will not fit the VX-L due to the irregularly shaped objective lens. I have also purchased a set of Alumina covers for my son's VX-II scope and would recommend them to anyone with a Leupold scope.

They fit my gun perfectly, work smoothly and quietly.From the time I saw these lens caps, I had to have them. I love my low profile scope and wanted Leupold lens covers to finish the look. They are very hard to find in a store or online. Many online stores have them but the sales people have no idea they do. The "L" in the part number is the only thing that gives it away, meaning "Low profile". I had to call Leupold to get a part number before I could identify who stocked them. It was so worth the trouble though.
