Tournament legal line-of-site distance out to 800 yards in a compact unit with a bright OLED display

Amazon.com

Accurate, legal tournament information on a vivid display. Featuring a compact body built of solid piece of aluminum, the GX-3 rangefinder is rugged and capable of providing line-of-sight distance of out to 800 yards. The bright OLED display is coupled with PrismLock, Scan Mode, and standard Fog Mode to provide a highly efficient and useful tool for your golf bag that offers accurate ranging, low glare, and scratch-resistant high-quality optics in any type of weather, even dense fog.

Every GX-3 has been calibrated to fire a laser beam right at the target through the crosshairs. The proprietary beam geometry improves laser returns from the pin and the advanced GX software accurately distinguishes the target from other objects in the background. On courses that utilize Prism technology, ranging a distance from a pin is even easier thanks to Prism Lock. The user simply holds the top button to scan the area around the pin and the rangefinder will stop and zone in on the Prism-marked flag as soon as it identifies it.

Line-of-site distance can be measured out to 800 yards and viewed with a bright and vivid red OLED display that's easy to read against any background and far superior to traditional LCD displays.

After trying (borrowing during tournament golf) several rangefinders on the course with fellow playing partners I decided to go with the GX-3. For me it is the best quality of all the competitors. It has a solid aluminum rubberized casing, it is a very small compact unit that fits perfectly in your hand. I have it on my belt at all times and the case allows for easy and quick access and because it is so lightweight it means you hardly notice it is there. I'm not technical minded but it manages to find the pin yardage quickly and accurately without the fuss and bother of other rangefinders and obviously works at all courses as there is no software to download. Finally, this is a premium quality piece of kit that I'm sure will last for years. There are not many products I buy where I am impressed with the quality and build, but this is certainly one of them.

Just thought I would update my review. Two years on this unit is still going strong and is used every week. It's kept In my golf bag the whole time. That bag is humped from truck to cart. Seems to me this thing is indestructible. Fantastic product.

Great product. Small, light, and accurate. Very solid feel, easy to steady and acquire target. Aluminum block body seems indestructable. OLED is bright and easy to read. Tournament legal. This should be the last golf rangefinder I ever buy.

I have used the GX-3 during 10-12 rounds and it works well, quick and precise. You can put it everywhere. I test it on a foggy and rainy day and it worked like in a sunny day. Sometimes, during the sunset, I'd like to reduce the contrast of the red leds (they are really brillant).

I owned two Bushnell rangefinders, (both eventually died) and decided to try this product because of the long battery life. I like the red sight; it works well in all light, and I believe the rangefinder is very accurate. The pins at my club have the glass beads on the sticks, but the rangefinder only finds them occasionally. I also find this model a little slow. Nevertheless, it works well, is lightweight, and has a long battery life. The Bushnell was a little easier(because of the 7x magnification) and faster, but the batteries needed changing relatively often. I always carried extra batteries in my bag. For what it's worth, I would buy a Bushnell or Leupold on price, unless you don't mind paying almost $400 for the newest model. They both give you the information you're ultimately looking for with accuracy.

First range finder I have ever owned. It is so easy to use, and is very easy to aim with the red cross-hairs. Not difficult to hold and point at a pin, crazy accurate and fast. You can either hold down the button for yardage that will adjust while you move the range finder around, or tap the button and shoot for a single yardage.

There is not one time I have regretted buying this, it's like having a know it all caddy hiding in your golf bag. It's done nothing but improve my game in so many aspects. The case it comes with is very durable, the range finder itself looks like it could take a beating, worked well in some rain too.

Unfortunately I can not compare it to anything else, however, I wont have to, because I will be sticking with this range finder for as long as it sticks with me.

I purchased a GX-3 a month ago and have played several times with it. I found it very easy to use even at 200 plus yards using the scan method. The red LED display is clear and easy to see even in bright sunlight. I have use several other rangefinders and this unit is the best I've used. I had a Skycaddie gps for five years which I really liked but it started giving me problems. There are pro's and con's with each unit, with the gps being more convient and the GX-3 is more accurate.

I had my heart set on a bushnell, but after comparing the two in the store, there was no comparison.
Sure the Leupold is more expensive but with its compact design, solid aluminum body, ability to scan,
beeps when it picks up a prism on the flagstick, and best of all, bright red led display, it is WAY better.
I absolutely love love love it!!!!

I had a Skycaddie and this blows it away. I can get yardage anytime, anyplace, to
anything I want. Is the group in front of me out of the way yet? Just shoot em in the back to get how far they are.
Need to cut a dogleg but aren't sure how much or what club to use? Just shoot a tree on the other side of the fairway.
Need to lay up but not sure which club to use? Just pick a spot in the fairway you want to hit to and shoot it for yardage.
No more searching for sprinkler heads, looking for fairway markers and then marching off yardage. With this you get EXACT yardage to the hole. Not the front or middle or back of the green.

I see Martha gave it a bad review. Can't possibly understand why. Must either have been defective or not using correctly.
I have had mine for two years, play alot of golf, and NEVER HAD A PROBLEM, NEVER NOT PICKED UP THE FLAG.
And still using the original battery! BUY BUY BUY this range finder!!!!!!!!

I noticed many of my golfing buddies had stopped using their GPS units and started using range finders instead. After my curiosity got the best of me I tried a few and settled on the Leupold GX-3. I have found it to be very reliable, easy to use and extremely rugged. I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a top of the line range finder. By the way, I leave my Sky Caddie home now.
