Product Description

Leupold GX-4i Rangefinder The Leupold GX-4i Digital Golf Rangefinder offers a rugged alumnium body, a vivid OLED dislpay and line-of-site measurement when the standard chrome faceplate is attached. Snap on the included Smart Key faceplate and the GX-4i instantly becomes a coach, providing accurate ranging information that matches your personal striking distances to the slope of the shot and current atmospheric conditions, even suggesting which club to use. Pinhunter and Prism Lock: Every GX golf rangefinder has been precisely calibrated to fire a laser beam exactly at the target in the crosshairs. Leupold's priprietary beam geometry improves laser returns from the pin and the advanced GX software accurately separates those returns from objects in the background. On courses that utilize prism technology, ranging a distant pin is even easier thanks to Prism Lock. Hold the top button to scan the area around the pin, your GX will beep and the display will freeze the moment it identifies a prism-topped flag stick. Optical System: Leupold engineers combine precision glass, cutting edge coating technology and rugged structural components to create some of the most desired optical products on the market. The optical system in the GX golf rangefinders is built to the same exacting standards. You can expect no less than bright, clear optics, accurate ranging, low glare, scratch resistance and years of dependable use. In addition to Leupold's advanced optical precision, the GX-4i sports a vivid red OLED display which is easy to read against any background and far superior to the standard LCD displays found in most golf rangefinders. Scan Mode: When you want multiple readings in one quick sweep, just hold down the power button on your GX-4i and the display will continuously update with accurate line-of-site measurements. As an extra benefit, on courses utilizing prism technology, you GX will beep and the display will freeze the moment you scan past a prism-topped flag stick, a

I absolutely love this product. I have used many yardage devices over the years, and this is by far the best. I was happy with my Bushnell for several years until the airline smashed it. My husband is an avid hunter and he knows that I demand the best technology for golf because I am an LPGA Teaching Professional. He suggested the Leupold because of their excellence with scopes. This machine is small, light, quick, easy to read, and accurate. I particularly enjoy the slope feature for practice rounds and teaching. My students can instantly see the yardage change numerically on uphill and downhill shots. When playing in a tournament this device quickly becomes USGA legal. Win Win!! This baby goes in my carry on.

This is my first review on amazon and Just recieved this product and have only played once with it but absolutely love it! Have tried many GPS rangefinders from Iphone apps to actual gps units. Those are great for basic information but I'm a pilot and travel lots and play courses only once and the GPS data can sometimes be quite off. I'm not a great golfer (15 Handicap), but this just gives you that information that makes you feel confident in your club decision. The new bright red OLED numbers are very easy to read evenn with sunglasses on! Its quick...VERY quick on giving you the information. I tried the bushnell brand once and it was nice but for 100$ more for the similar model with slope, it did not feel as sturdy and I just prefered the build quality and look of this unit. Its MUCH smaller in person to. I can easily fit it in my pocket. I think in combination with a free basic GPS app on your iphone to see course layout if your trying new courses and this laser rangefinder as you get closer to the pin, its the perfect combination for those golfers who travel or like to try lots of new courses. I know this will help bring down my score and improve accuracy. Thanks Leupold for the great product.

Great optics and I have the slope edition with ballistic algorithms for different slopes, temperatures, and altitudes. I sometimes play in Arizona at a much higher altitude that my home. I have never been able to find a rule of thumb that works but this device will make the correction. I also have a Skycaddie SGXw and the laser range finder is a useful adjunct for training how to judge changes in yardage for slopes, called the True Golf Range (TGR); it is also good to use on the range for unknown flag distances and to also to set up yardages to calibrate distance wedges. Although TGR is not allowed for tournament play, the device comes with a replacement front end which renders the TGR unusable, and therefore should be legal for tournament play. All laser rangefinders are somewhat difficult to hold steady to ensure the right target. This one locks on to flags with prism reflectors, but is more difficult with non-prism flags. With a little practice you can separate the targets more easily.

Absolutely love it. I previously had two bushnell range finders and several sky caddies. The first bushnell I sold because it had slope adjustment and I couldn't use it in tournaments. The next one didn't have it and I missed it ! The sky caddie is good but yearly fees and less accurate. Tried the gx-4i and it is by far the best and most accurate. Plus you can convert it to a legal for tournament laser by just taking off the yellow front and clipping on the chrome front that comes with it. As with all lasers you need line of sight to get the distance, but unlike cheaper ones this unit can scan surrounding obstacles and give all kinds distances. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is $500 price tag when I bought it and a slight flaw in my unit which doesn't give me a reading every once in awhile for a couple of seconds. I'm sure it's covered under the two year warranty, but I don,t want to be without it as I play Every week year around!

Sometimes it's hard to lock into a flag even if it has a prism. But otherwise it's fantastic. Saves time and adds confidence.

I find it very useful for those short distances (usually after a flubbed shot). It helps to know if a flag is 60 yards away versus 45 yards away.

I love the slope vs. no slope option - nice option to have for a tournament. Quick and easy to use. Bright display is easy to read. I highly recommend getting one with the OLED display - makes it so much nicer to use. My brother uses the Bushnell Tour V3 and this one seemed about the same (although with a few more features). I think these 2 are the best/fastest/smallest. Both good choices.

The Leupold GX-4i is the best rangefinder on the market, bar none. It offers the best pin ranging on the market with precision laser technology. The interactive chip with advanced slope, altitude, club selection and ranging algorithms puts all other products on the market to shame.

The unit is built for the battlefield, but at home on the golf course. Inclement weather be damned. This things could be rescued from a lateral water hazard and still do its job. It possesses Kalashnikov ruggedness for snipers with the appropriate iron or graphite. It may tend toward the top end of the price scale; but like anything in life, you get what you pay for.
