I was very impressed with these binoculars, using them on two recent trips. I mainly use binocs for birding and wildlife viewing and they were very reliable. The image is sharp and the focus was very sensitive. The adjustable eyecups took some getting used to, since I have never had binocs that did this before. But it didn't take long to also get used to that feature. The weight was very good, never giving you any neck aches. I also like the strap, it's super comfortable!! Also, the waterproof-ness of these was tested several times when I was caught in the rain with them and I can attest to it being true! These are perfect binocs for a birdwatcher (or some occassional people watching!)

I wanted a compact binocular that I could carry in a pocket comfortably. In the illustrative picture, the Leupold Katmai 8x32 Compact Binocular looks smaller than they are in fact. They are relatively bulky and surprisingly heavy. This is not a "pocket binocular". Otherwise, the optics are excellent and they adjust easily to varying viewing distances.

I love these binocs. I am taking them to Africa for a month. I like the compact size for traveling and they are extremely clear. Its an American company too.
