This little step stool turned out to be exactly the right height for a 26 month old (tall for her age) granddaughter. She was quite excited to see it, and even more so to step on it and hear the ribbit sound. No problem getting her to wash her hands, for sure. It's safe and sturdy and very cute.

I looked all over for this particular stepstool. Children's Hospital in Washington, DC had it in a room where kids get hooked up for overnight EEGs and my son fell in love with it last year. It makes a "ribbit" sound when you step on the stool (a soft "ribbit-ribbit" croak, 3 times in a row). One of the feet has a pressure-sensing device, so you pretty much have to have the stool on a completely hard surface to make the ribbit sound when pressed.
The lab folks let us borrow it for our stay, so, I set the stool on top of a giant board book in order for my son to be able to have it in the bed and push on the top to make the ribbit sound. This exact item quite pricey, so I made it a Christmas gift. When I got it, the pressure-sensing device was not as sensitive as we needed, so we removed the rubber pad, inserted a penny, and put the pad back on. Now, it takes very little pressure to make the ribbit sound! If memory serves, it uses a replaceable button battery.

My toddler needed assistance looking out his bedroom windows and also at the sink for hand washing. I searched everywhere for a "cool" stool and everything I saw was pretty boring. Then, I found the Toad Stool! It's cute, durable, stable, and even croaks! My son loves to jump up on his stool to watch the garbage truck go by our house... or will look out for Daddy to come home from work. It's not bulky, not high off the ground (my son hasn't fallen off too much), and great colors. It even has a fun little surprise poem underneath on the frog's belly. Nice touch! Great product...
