5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Work, September 16, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Leverett Letters: Correspondence of a South Carolina Family, 1851-1868 (Hardcover)
I can honestly say that this book is the most interesting I have read in a good while. The correspondence between members of this family gives a very personal and descriptive insight into their life in South Carolina just before, during and after the Civil War. It is very easy to feel as if you know the family personally by the time you are finished with the book. This work has won a permanent place on my bookshelf...and a second reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Leverett Letters, January 9, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Leverett Letters: Correspondence of a South Carolina Family, 1851-1868 (Hardcover)
This book was purchased for my daughter, a Civil War buff. She was and is very pleased with the book. I had a difficult time finding it at book stores but was lucky to find it on Amazon and was delivered before I knew it.
