5.0 out of 5 stars Once again Goldsmith triumphs over mediocrity!
Everytime I listen to this score I forget just how silly the source movie really was. Goldsmith can work musical wonders with any concept and he has graced various quality movies with some of the greatest scores in and out of the SF genre. Anyone interested in collecting good monster movie music needs to have this disc in their collection. Underwater Camp alone is...

3.0 out of 5 stars Some of Jerry's good, and not so good
The First and Last tracks are the prizes here. The other 11 worked wonderfully in the film, but outside that context, as background music, don't do very well. Interestingly enough, a track from a Japanese cartoon called "Record of the Lodoss Wars" features a track called "Knight of Lodoss," which bears a remarkable similarity to "A lot...

Anyone interested in collecting good monster movie music needs to have this disc in their collection. Underwater Camp alone is worth the full retail price. I heard that in the theater and knew that I was going to own the soundtrack. Way to go Jerry!

4.0 out of 5 stars Far Better Than The Film!, March 21, 2000
This review is from: Leviathan: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
In typical Goldsmith fashion Jerry put more creative energy into his score than the filmmakers did in making the movie. This score is a mixture of orchestral and subtle electronics put together in excellent arrangements. Skip the movie, just buy the score.

5.0 out of 5 stars Disappering score... Buy it quickly as soon as possible, May 22, 1999
This review is from: Leviathan: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
When people says Jerry's music is great, It's not a joke.... I heard that soudtrack begin to disappear, and bought it quickly. In this, Jerry made interesting electronic sound and good ochestral music. "Underwater camp" (what a good Whale call it was!) and "A lot Better" is good track.

Interestingly enough, a track from a Japanese cartoon called "Record of the Lodoss Wars" features a track called "Knight of Lodoss," which bears a remarkable similarity to "A lot Better." I'm sure it's just coincidence that the cartoon came out a year after "Leviathan."
