The webbing is heavy canvas and fairly wide. If you have unusually small belt loops, it might not work. The buckle looks like a military web belt but it's not. The front hinges open and teeth at the back lock into the web when you close it. It works like the adjustment clamp does on a standard web belt. Also the flat finished pewter color is different.
Update: This is 2 years later and the belt looks and works like new. The buckle is way better than the military buckle with the slide lock. Those loosen and wear the fabric of the belt. This snaps the teeth in and there is no wear.
I saw another review that said that the maximum size is 42. Web belts are not sized because they are all made oversize and are intended to be cut to the size that you want. I just broke out the second one that I bought with the first (I was used to web belts wearing out and bought a spare.) and, untrimmed, it had a usable 44.5" length. I measured the length from the teeth to the teeth marks in the webbing as near to the end cap as it could go and still give the buckle clearance to close.

No size is described in the product description part of this page but the size is "L". Belt seems to be made with really good parts and it was really cheap it only cost $12.96 and two day free shipping (amazon premiere). It was really hard to find one but I eventually found this one. I highly recommended this belt.

Perfect for pants with large loops, like jeans. Not for the dress-slacks crowd or, apparently (previous comment), for people with tiny waists. I prefer the clamp style buckle, rather than the pinch-bar buckle, because I believe it is more secure and less prone to slipping. A previous reviewer noted that the clamp style buckle is more bulky than a pinch-bar buckle but personally I don't find it cumbersome, overly obvious or overly heavy for jean use. I'm a little bigger and taller than most, so I suppose it may be bulky for smaller people. However, it is no where close to the bulkiness and weight of an average cowboy belt buckle and doesn't have their sharp edges that tend poke you. It's made by Levi and probably designed for use with jeans, or very casual pants and shorts, so the bucket is not shiny but has more of a pewter finish. Not having had it long, I can't assess durability factors like web stretch (can be recut shorter though), clamp bite loosening, and oxidation of metal finish. I would buy more if it came in other colors (i.e., blue and tan).

May, 2013 UPDATE: I just bought the Olive color version to add to my 2 black ones. The durability of the black ones has proven to be very good. They don't slip or stretch excessively. The buckle finish doesn't show scratches and hasn't oxidized. The colors of the belts are subdued and look sort of faded by design (not as much perhaps as stone washed jeans are), so don't expect a "Jet" black color to exactly match your new unfaded Black Levi jeans. So, if your belt loops can accommodate a full 1.5-inch wide by 1/8-inch-plus (<3/16") thick casual-style belt, then this may be for you. Be sure to remember to cut any excess web strap off on the buckle end of the belt as per the instruction tab on the buckle which will you will, no doubt, tear off immediately. Excellent belts for casual wear -- but I still wish they came in more colors, like Khaki, grey, and brown.

I must say that this is a belt for all sizes. This belt here should be able to fit a waste size of 48" and below easily and it's easy to adjust and lasts a very long time without the wear and tear. Just like a military belt, this here will last you several years before you will want to retire this belt and get another. Pick one up today and save yourself some money.

This belt is intended for Jeans and not for slack pants.

This is a heavy cotton webbed belt. the belt part is great. Im sure it can accommodate a large variety of waist sizes, as it is extraordinarily long. the buckle has some sort of interlocking tab release system which is difficult to release from certain angles and at looser tensions. 4/5 for the buckle.

I have always worn a web belt since being in the Marine Corps, and I have found them difficult to find. This one from Amazon is very good quality, though a bit different than the ones I've had in the past. 1st, the fabric is much softer than my normal "canvas like" fabric, which is not quite what I wanted, and I foresee that this belt will not hold up like my normal ones. (but i'm sure it will last over a year with daily wear). 2nd, the buckle is not what I expected, I've only had the slide buckle, but this one is hinged, and does not have the typical slide bar. This one is fine, just different. All in all, I'm pleased, but really.... it's just a belt.

I've been wearing web belts for many years & this is the best one I've ever owned. the construction is very durable, as one expects from a Levi product, but it's still pliable & not stiff. What makes it outstanding to me is the buckle dynamic; instead of the age-old knurled rolling pin push-pull routine, this buckle opens by pulling out on the belt & locks by just closing the buckle down. This design has been too long coming. As with all Levi products, I anticipate years of service from this belt.

After only 3 months, the belt is not usable for wearing in public due to the bottom tooth that has torn through the belt exposing threads. The belt is still functional. The roll type clasp will eventually do this as well, though takes years.

I purchased this belt because I needed one that did not fight with the muscles of the lower back. When you sit all day in front of a computer or walk a lot or any other situation where you are flexing the muscles in your lower back a solid leather belt restricts too much in my opinion. I have found I have a lot less stress and fatigue in the low back and therefore less pain if the belt can give a bit as the muscles flex. I like webbed leather belts if well made and this belt looked to be softer than the typical thin also stiff cloth belts I have experience in the past. And yes it is exactly as expected. firm enough to hold your pants up and flexible and forgiving enough to allow you to breath, reach, walk etc. and not restrict the flexion of the back muscles. It is great..

This belt more than meets my expectations. The webbing is thick, sturdy, and yet soft. It conforms comfortably to your body. The buckle closes securely and snaps shut, no slipping. I like the dull finish to the buckle, it looks appropriate with a worn pair of jeans. This belt is worth every penny I spent for it. Very pleased. It also shipped and arrived super fast and I live out in the middle of nowhere Montana. I wanted a belt with a lightweight buckle because when I ride my horse the heavier detachable type buckles, while very attractive, tended to flop around and become annoying.
