If you are used to buying Levi 512 Jeans you might find these run very small, obviously not all Levi 512's run with the same measurements (as there are different styles within the 512 category), it is too bad that they don't post the actual measurements of this product which would help eliminate the need for the whole return process. Plus they do not allow the choice of Small or Medium or Long, and from what I received I guess standard size is Medium, if you are Short just realize you will have to deal with this as well.

I always buy my jeans a little roomy so they'll be comfortable. I'm old enough to be able to do that and not worry about how they look (within reason, of course). What a disappointment it was to open the Amazon box and try these on. They're nearly two sizes smaller than they're marked. Incidentally, I bought a different pair of Levis in this same order and they have the same problem. I also bought a pair of Lee jeans and they fit perfectly, with a little room to spare. All three of these are supposedly the same size. Anyway, these Levis are going back and I won't be buying Levis on Amazon again. It wouldn't surprise me to discover that these Levis are "seconds" (meaning they have some sort of defect/problem, which in this case would be they were marked with the wrong size).

I like these jeans. They make me look thinner, which is no small feat. The problem is, they run very small - you need to get at least one size larger than usual. I didn't, and it is nearly impossible to get into them at first. I have to lie down on the bed and suck in hard just to get the zipper up halfway and the button buttoned. If you wear them around for 2 or 3 hours they stretch enough to get them closed properly and then they fit snugly but pretty well until you wash them and they shrink up again. It would be easier to choose the larger size in the first place.
My other more general complaint about Levis is that the front pockets are too shallow to be very useful. I don't know why clothing manufacturers think women don't need pockets! Maybe I should write to them.

I prefer my pants "At the Waist" the front rise (from zipper to crotch) was too short and the back rise was too short. The quality of the jeans were good and the fit. I always appreciate when the description tells whether the rise is low, just below the waist or At the Waist.

I have gained quite a bit of weight over the last 2 years and have had a difficulty finding jeans that fit my body type - narrow waist and hips, big butt and thighs. Prior to these, I hadn't bought a pair of jeans in years because I was so discouraged by what was available in the stores. Then an online search brought me to the Levi's 512 and I decided to give them a shot, and I'm [mostly] glad that I did.

I have these jeans in both the Milky Night and the Black washes and they do indeed fit differently. The Milky Night was ordered as a 16M and the Black as a 16W. I noticed a lot of negative reviews regarding sizing and thought I should share my experience to help someone else who may be thinking of purchasing these.

I ordered the Milky Night first and was ecstatic with how well they fit and felt. I would describe it as hand-in-glove perfect. The cotton was soft (not stiff) with generous stretch, yet it doesn't become saggy and misshapen. And there's no gaping in the back! The color and stitching details are also very nice.

After being wowed by the Milky Night, I purchased the Black and was surprised that they didn't fit at all. I couldn't get them half-way up my thighs and the fabric was stiff - completely different than the Milky Night. I didn't return them as I am on a weight loss journey and I was finally able to wear the Black jeans after I had lost a little over 10 pounds. It took a little effort to get them up but once I had walked around and sat in them for a few hours they fit great on my legs and rear. However, the waist is still snug (and this despite the fact that I have a proportionally narrow waist compared to my rear). So I would definitely recommend that you order at least 1 size up if you want the Black. I think the Milky Night is true to size (the ones I have are now a bit loose on me, but still good).

I checked the labels and, though it doesn't state so on the product description page, the Black jeans (at least the ones I received) are 99% Cotton and 1% Elastane. The Milky Night are 77% Cotton, 21% Polyester and 2% Elastane. They both say "Perfectly Shaping 512 Straight" on the inner tag so I'm not sure why they are made of different materials, and I really don't know why it's not disclosed on the description page. So I guess that's why they fit so differently. Also, as I mentioned before, I ordered the Black as a 16W, but the tag on the one I received just says 16. I really have no explanation for the inconsistencies, other than either Levis or Amazon are not diligent in their disclosure and descriptions of this product.

You can't go wrong with Levis.

The only thing I did not fully appreciate was how low the waste was - it definitely sits right at the hips (and sadly just under my beer belly) - the cut really shows off the muffin top.

They are also stretcher than the classic denim - the jeans have some spandex in them. The blend is softer than regular jeans.

I bought these at a store and for me, they fit perfectly. They are close-fitting, but that is why they are called "perfectly shaping". Loose jeans wouldn't be called that, in my opinion. I like the lower waist and the way they look on me. I bought the size I normally wear in Levi's. In my experience, all brands fit differently, so one might have a different size in one maker's jeans than another's.

Great looking jeans. Usually wear a 16 so I bought an 18W to allow for shrinkage. Cannot even pull them up over hips!

Waaaay to small. I have another pair of these in the same size and they fit fine. Really sad I love the jean I have and just wanted another pair.
