I had been looking for a solution to protect a wall mounted TV. Most plug in style surge protectors are too bulky for today's flat panel TV's This was the perfect soultion. My only complaint is that you cannot reset it. Once it takes a spike, you need to replace it.

When I remodeled my basement, I installed a receptacle high on the wall where my TV would be mounted. However, I had to run the power cord to my surge suppressor--until I found this item. I replaced the original receptacle with this one and now I don't have the power cord showing under my flat panel TV. I bought another of these for my garage apartment I'm building for the same reason. I just hope they work as advertised. Time will tell, but I'm fairly confident with this brand name.

Neat product, fits in single gang box. Allows clean hookup of appliances that need surge suppression but don't justify an outlet strip.

Trolled around the web looking for a solution to power what would ultimately be a wall mounted TV. Found this outlet on Amazon and there was no need to look further. This worked out perfectly. I do agree with another reviewer in that you will likely need a deep workbox given the size and depth of this outlet. My outlet box had a homerun straight to the panel (only 3 wires in the box going direct to the breaker) so I did not need that much space. The only issue I see with this solution is that should I get too many spikes causing the protection to fail, I will need to replace this outlet. I don't look forward to taking this 120lb + TV off the wall to do it. I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

We instaled this behind our wall mounted TV so we didn't need a surge protector. It looks great and was easy it install. This is deep so you might need make sure your box is big enough. What a great value!

I purchased this for an outlet that I installed for a wall-mounted LCD TV. Because of the clean installation, I did not want cords/surge protector running down the wall. Serves its purpose well, and Leviton is a well-respected company that makes good products.
